Hello Lothar! I'm glad you're coming to Wisley, and I'll be looking out for you. I hope the weather will be fine, but bring an umbrella, just in case! 50 days to go! See you there, Richard

Hello again folks! I slipped out of town today while the forum was quiet, and I've just returned after buying my ticket for Hayley's concert at Wisley on Thursday 8th June 2006. If anybody else goes down there to buy a ticket on site and finds the box-office kiosk in the car park is closed, you can buy tickets from the Information desk in the shop. You do not need to enter the gardens to buy your tickets. They give you a leaflet about the Wisley Music Festival with your tickets. It describes Hayley as the nation's sweetheart, and doesn't mention New Zealand at all! For general information about the gardens, here is a link to Wisley's web site: www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/wisleyFor full details of the Music Festival: www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/wisley/wisleymusicfestival.aspI look forward to seeing some of you there. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

... They give you a leaflet about the Wisley Music Festival with your tickets. It describes Hayley as the nation's sweetheart, and doesn't mention New Zealand at all! ... That's a shame because she couldn't be more immensely proud of her Kiwi roots, but it's also a sincere compliment because it shows how fully adopted she is into the hearts of UK'ers.

Hi Steve and Richard. Well, do you remember that interview she gave, was it classicfm on her birthday, where she said she hoped she didn't presume in possibly being accepted as an honorary Brit. Now she knows she doesn't presume and is indeed accepted as an honorary Brit!!! I think we're all as proud of her as her fellow kiwis. Peter

Hi Richard, lets hope its a sunshiny day but not too warm so the scent of those blooms isn't too strong ( I suffer from hayfever), hi all who are also going to Wisley--so am I now! I shall probably arrive early for the gardens before-hand and to ensure a good seat. What chances of our meeting up in the wet tent. although as I shall be driving that's no use to me and I must be careful of things like wet tents--Andrew has led me astray in the past over such institutions. I originally held back from Wisley. It is going to be a late night and I wasn' certain of my timing for going to Huddersfield on the Saturday, or perhaps the Fridaty beforehand, nor am I any clearer at the moment as to when I shall leave Huddersfield for where? Suffering hayfever was another reason for not thinkling of Wsley but there seems to be such a crowd of HWI bods that Such thought he ought to be there--it could be quite a party. I could continue this post, but I shall be well disciplined. The continuation will be the Newmarket thread and the Wales thread. Now that is subject classification for you! Peter

We will be going to Wisley Gardens on 8th June for Hayley’s concert. I hope to see other HWI members there. Wembley was so vast I could not spot anybody despite binoculars!
We are spending a few days in London so will be travelling from there. Getting there by public transport is fairly straight forward but the return journey is not, as there is no public transport back to the nearest railway stations, which are 3 to 4 miles away! At least Kenwood laid on plenty of Courtesy buses back to the nearest station, why not Wisley? They mention about bringing a torch to find your way to the car park at the end of the concert!
I think at the end of the day I will have to book a taxi from Woking station and back. Have any other members worked around this problem? There are frequent trains from Woking to London up to 00.18 on Friday 9th.
We are attending The Classical Brits next Thursday so hope to see some familiar faces there?

I have now arranged to go to Wisley Gardens Music Festival on 8th June by train from London Waterloo to Woking railway station. I will be booking a taxi to and from the concert. I hope to arrive at Woking station about 5pm. If 2 other members want to share the cost of the taxi to or from the concert, please contact me.
We have also found some lightweight folding chairs at Marks and Spencer for £4.99 each.
I will definitely be bringing my own food and drink; £55.00 for a hamper is not on! An M&S hamper was only £30 at Kenwood last year.
I do hope to meet some HWI members there! I had no luck at Wembley or The Classical Brits. I am sure this is going to be great concert, fingers crossed for fine weather!

Hello Tony, Great news that you are able to make Wisley , I have sent you a PM with my mobile number in case we do not meet at the entrance, There will be a good turn out from the forum, and I am sure we will all have a great time. If we are lucky we will get to see Hayley either before or after the performance . If you get stuck for a lift back to the station I will run you back there . I think Richard is arriving by train as well? Anyway I look forward to meeting up with you on the day! Very Best Regards Steve H

I haven't yet planned my day but Wisley is a 'visit sometime' on my personal agenda so I will probably spend the day in the gardens as the 'walk around' before the show will probably be best taken up grabbing a decent place.
