Hi! Thank you Grant and George for you reports. Sounds like you had a great time there. With HWI you're always in the front row even if you don't have the possibility to attend the concert. I like your pictures George. Hayley looks great on them like she always does. Looking forward to Peter's report. Thomas

Hi George and Grant! Thanks - you guys have really done us proud! I really appreciated your written accounts of the concert and your photographs George! Great work! I guess you enjoyed an "extended show" since you witnessed the sound check too. Extra special! Excellent work guys! Andrew

Hi George and Grant,
Thanks for the great reviews - I would have loved to have been there, but as Steve says, we were tied up with a family get - together.
The pictures are great too and give a real flavour of the event. Overcast skies always cut down the light drastically..
I am, as you are, intrigued to know what Hayley has got planned that is cutting her break short. You can be sure HWI will be amongst the first to find out!!
Stuart

Hello George! Thanks for your report and the wonderful photographs. It's great to see the shots of the sound-check, and I also like Hayley's red dress. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I was very interested to read that Hayley included 'Mummers' Dance' in the concert. She sang it at Cadogan Hall in June, and that was probably the first time she had ever sung it live in the UK. We all suggested that she should include it in her shows more often, and now she's doing it! See you soon, Richard

Hi Richard
I'm also glad that Hayley is singing the Mummers Dance more. I fell in love with it at Cadogan Hall and had to get the Asian Special Edition of Pure to have a copy (bought on eBay from Hong kong!)
At Newmarket, the call was for "Who Painted the Moon Black" I've never heard Hayley sing this live as I only saw her first at HMV last September. Do you think this lovely song will ever find it's way back into her live performances?
Stuart

Hi Stuart,
Hayley sung "Who Painted the Moon Black?" live at Toast.
I shall prepare the video for you tomorrow.

Hi Stuart and Drew, I was about to answer "no" to Stuart's question about Hayley singing "Who Painted" again. Then I saw Drew's post which prevented me from making a fool of myself! Thanks, Drew - I owe you one! I have to say I am surprised that she sang it at Toast though. Having apparently dropped it from her repertoire, I would have expected it to remain dropped, especially when she must now be looking towards performing new material from her next album. But what do I know about it? It is nice to know she still performs it though. It's a really good song and deserves to be heard a few more times yet. Roger

For Stuart (and Roger) as promised: "Who Painted the Moon Black" Hayley Westenra, Fiona Pears and Al Gurr - Toast NZ, Regents Park, Saturday 15th July 2006. (Sorry wrong thread.) www.osmosysoft.com/images/ToastedBlackMoon.wmvDave, please contact me regarding doing this properly so that I can become a member of Fenning & Co Productions Unlimited. Please excuse camera shake. I was on the fence (not far from Thomas) and I had just had my first Hayley close encounter (and more than a couple of glasses of Sauvignon Blanc). PS. Roger - the champagne at Cadogan Hall is very reasonable if you care to honour your debts. Hi Drew, If you want your "Toasted Black Moon" to shine on the main website, you will need to supply Simon, Roger and Dave with plenty of butter to go with it! There's nothing like fresh Toasted Black Moon for supper! Well done that man! I love it... You didn't use a tripod either? Andrew Next time I visit Toast I shall carry a portable tripod to clip on the fence (and maybe cut down on the Sauvignon Blanc until after the performance). No camera police at Toast. I did ask Hayley's Road Manager if I could video her during the VIP presentation and I accepted his negative decision. (My wife produced the previously shown movie-clip of the scenery falling down from her camera.) I did not ask during the free for all out in the park. I think that Fiona might have given me a few strange looks down the lens, but I promise to forward a personal copy of the DVD to her when I have tidied it up. Whilst at Blickling I managed to video one and a half Il Divo songs before the police got me. I think that the control tower looks out for the little blue screens and then contacts the ground forces by radio. I missed videoing Hayley at Blickling as I preferred being up close at the stage fence (and the police would certainly not permit videos from there.) When we look through the viewfinder we miss all of the eye to eye contact. When I get back to Cadogan Hall I intend to return to the eye to eye contact and leave the video to Japanese TV. (I hope I did not spoil anyone's last visit to Cadogan Hall, I tried to restrain a coughing fit in BB15 just as Hayley started her first song, normally she just brings tears to my eyes.) Just nipping out to Tesco's to get some butter for the team (and some cough sweets in anticipation in case Roger gives a short measure of the champagne.)

Hi Drew,
Yes, it is a dilemma knowing how much to video / photograph at a concert.
I try to get some good shots then sit back and enjoy the performance but unless I put the camera right away, I can't resist trying to get " one more good photo"

I've got an easier way. I just appoint a couple of HWI Photographers, leave my camera at home and sit back and enjoy ALL the concert! Roger
