Hello Gerrit and Lothar! Thank you for a truly amazing photo gallery, I can tell everybody had a great time in Germany. Hayley certainly enjoys meeting her fans and posing for photographers, especially when she can do both at the same time. Trust me, I know from personal experience in the UK! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

I finally saw the video and Hayley was wonderful of course! To be honest, "Imagine" is one of those songs that really annoys me, lol. Especially the lyrics - but I'll not get into that! lol.
Another great performance by Miss Odyssey....

(Wags finger) Now, now, Natasha, be nice. I don't think Hayley got to necessarily pick what she sang.

Your probably right but at least the organizers should have let Hayley sing the piece on her own or even as a duet, the opera singer just wasn't right for it.
Hayley did a good job though. I'd like to see her try her hand at "Bridge over troubled water" alone, lol.

Hehe, Natasha, You may not want to go into the annoying aspecs of the lyrics of Imagine - but I do! I have always had reservations about the lyrics of "Imagine". I think "Imagine" really tries to imagine too much. For instance, why sing "imagine there's no country" at an international sports event, when the medal table per country is one of the main interests ? Of course, "Imagine" is a song that tries to make us wish to do away with everything that can separate us, like hatred between nations, and hatred between religions - but its message is unrealistic. Differences between groups of people (whether these are based on ethnic or religious parameters) will continue to exist - to imagine that those troubled waters don't exist is really airy fluff. What we really need is people prepared to build bridges across these troubled waters - they will have much more chance to be successful than the dreamy thinking behind imagining that those troubled waters don't exist. Anyway, that's my personal analysis - I've always found "Imagine" a pleasant enough tune (very dreamy, of course), but a tune that's supporting an airy-fairy message .... (and to be honest, the statement about imagining there's no religion too is a contradiction in terms, as this statement itself implies a form of religion - one that has the potential to separate people.) Gerrit
