....Then, at the end, it was great when Hayley closed the ceremony, in a trio with Benny Martell and Jose Cura. They sang... "Imagine" of course, and beautifully they did it too... followed by a fireworks display extraordinaire and the end of the show. I bet Hayley's never performed Imagine in public before! (Roger?) I don't even need to look that one up, Dave. No, Hayley has never performed 'Imagine' before to my knowledge. Roger

Gerrit, that was excellent. I'll even forgive you for being two minutes late!
I was captivated by the trio's performance of 'Imagine'. Did you notice that Hayley looked particularly happy throughout? Maybe that was because of the occasion or does she like the song? I wonder.

Gerrit, when I've sorted out my mpegs/converted them, I'll see if the sound/vision is compatible with yours... you never know we may be able to stick the bits together between us! Oh, I was caught the same way as you were... but at the start of Imagine! They really did mess about with the timimgs and it seems to have finished 15 minutes early I did, however, record it all on my (very!) old faithful... my VCR! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Dave

Hello Dave and Gerrit! Thank you for putting up the clips so speedily. I've just watched them, and I thought Hayley looked and sounded stunning throughout. I quite enjoyed the trio singing "Imagine", but now I want to hear Hayley sing it on her own. There's another idea for the future. I wonder if Lothar was hiding behind that banner? I'm sure he'll tell us in due course! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBye for now, Richard

Thank you Guys for keeping us upto date on all things Hayley. We are not only impressed with you reviews on Hayley's visit in aid of the Ponies but also her accessability to all. Thanks Hayley,Sophie, Steve and Holly. Only 57 days to Heaton Park. When we hope to have the opportunity to meet Haley again. ? did we read that Hayley will be doing some concerts later this year with Churches as her venues, or is that wishful thinking Regards. Brid and Den.

Hi Denis,
That is in the tentative stage at the moment because it is being investigated by Hayley's manager. Until there is anything definite to say, it can be considered much akin to speculation.
If anyone is wondering about the videos announced by my friend Gerrit due to them having a url which is different to the Hayley Westenra International .com address, this is easy to explain.
Gerrit is a resource manager with HWI and, as such, shares the burden of maintaining a spread of web capacity and bandwidth by operating Hayley Westenra International with a .net suffix. This is a very valuable partnership which was discussed in detail between all of us prior to it's establishment. It is a partnership that we at HWI are very proud of. Gerrit is an excellent friend, and very efficient at his task of webmaster.
The advantages of this are: 1) web capacity and bandwidth requirements are spread between these two sites.
2) Should either have a server problem causing them to go offline, the other will still be available for viewing. The name of the game is continuity and reliability of access for the fans.
By the way. Welcome to the forum Denis. I do hope you enjoy being here and I look forward to reading your messages.
Keith.

Hi Guys,
Well done Gerrit and Dave for the clips, cheers. It was very enjoyable and I was surprised by that version of 'Imagine', performed with different styles by each singer. Hayley of course sounded amazing and it remined me of her singing at the Ve Day concert this year with Heather Small. She really changes her sound during these two performances.
Also, great too see Hayley in green again just like at Kenwood.
Cheers,
Emmett

As everyone's been posting big pictures today, here's a couple of Hayley at the World Games (singing Pokarekare Ana and just after finishing it, from my original video capture).

Hey Guys is that Lothar in the first picture. 2nd on the left? Hello Emmett! That certainly looks like Lothar to me. Bye for now, Richard I agree with you Richard, it certainly looks like Lothar! What I'd like to know, is who are the others with him? The T shirt logo has the same design as the big flag they draped which seems to be associated with Hayley's official site (not a fansite). Interesting... Lothar, please tell us more! The T shirts is a good idea though, although I'm not sure about their choice of colour, and I wonder how many people will recognise the Kiwi image as a Kiwi? Hmmm... Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, Yes it is Lothar, I just checked the guestbook over at the offical German site and he has left a message there. He said that Universal organised the whole event with the banner and t-shirts. He gives details of the two tracks during her perfomances. Also there was a meeting arranged for the fans with Hayley. And he mentioned that Gerald and Sophie were in attendance. How come this doesnt happen in the UK? Thats why we have HWI. No wonder we still havent heard from him, he is still on cloud nine after this event. Hope to hear from you soon. Emmett

More I will explain in my report tomorrow. I had recorded the whole TV-broadcast of the opening ceremony by my TV-DVD-recorder...... If you have any wish, please send a private e-mail to me. cu Lothar
