So, after using Photobucket for 7 years, which has become progressively more awkward to use, they have now blocked my photos from being viewed on the forum. All could be well if I upgrade to their Plus 500 Plan, for a mere $399.99 per year. That is simply not going to happen Can anyone recommend an alternative?

Well John Photobucket haven't done that to me yet but I probably don't use it as much as you do. Under their new Ts & Cs if you exceed your free allowance of 2GB then you have to become a "paying member" which clearly you won't be ! I don't now how many photos you need to exceed 2GB but I have a long way to go yet !

I have had to start paying in order to allow more space on my account, but it's only been $29.99 per year! I haven't used it much lately, either. I'll test one out, just to see, though: Since it's Sophie's birthday, I'll post the ones I have of her (which I at one time shared on the official forum):

Well it's working for now Libby, but I wonder for how long Here are Photobucket's new account types Btw, I was only using 19% of my 2GB limit. Imageshack also wanted to charge me for opening an account. I just opened an account on imgur.com - let's see how that works

Well, I'm not sure how many GB's I have available. All I know is, my account is 25% full, and there's a link to "Get more" space, which means paying for more. I don't need more at the moment. Since there is no more official forum for me to post Hayley photos (mainly press and concert photos) on, and really not much in the way of Hayley photos anymore, all I really use it for is to crop a few of my own photos. And all the photos that are in my account are saved on my computer (and most on a memory card, if worse comes to worse, though I do have Carbonite). So, I wouldn't suffer much without it.

I think Flickr has an upload limit of 1 terabyte per account, with maximum file size 200 MB... which should be more than enough for most people. I stopped using my photobucket account a while back, too many problems. Videos on Flickr can be up to 1 GB each but have to be split into 3 minute segments. 'Still photographers' generally tend to use Flickr.
Cheers, Dave

I haven't used Photobucket much lately and my storage is only 2% full. I've just taken the precaution of uploading my avatar photo to ProBoards instead of linking it from Photobucket. Richard

Oh dear ! I see Grant's pictures on the Shepherds Bush thread have gone as well. Fingers crossed, mine are still up, I don't know if I should provoke the beast by trying to upload a new picture or should I just back away slowly and quietly and not disturb the critter. was away for a slice of Pisa.. I see Hayley is showing lots of butterfly images lately

As far as I can see mine are still there. I actually uploaded 122 new pictures yesterday, digitised slides from the early 1970s to share with some people that I was working with back then. That seems to have gone OK.

Excuse me Comet, but you don't need to act like I'm stupid, since neither of those are actual"butterfly images". They're pictures that contain images of butterfly artwork. I never noticed any butterfly in the train picture; I'm not sure whether it was even a picture at all, anyway. These instagram stories don't make a lot of sense to me, and I think they're kind of pointless if they don't last. Also, 2 whole pictures is not "a lot". I would say there have been more social media posts using crystal ball emojis than butterflies anywhere, or on anything. This is what a "butterfly image" is, and this is from last year.
