I personally use Imgur.com, and I highly recommend it. The only limit it has is 50 photos per IP address per hour. No file size limits, watermarking, or overall account limits. Plus they've got some good organizational tools, like albums, renaming your photos, and adding descriptions. I've used it for most of my photo uploads all the way back to 2013 (and now my signature smiley as well), and none have gone missing as far as I know. -Taylor

I recently logged into my account on photobucket... and let's just say I was NOT happy at all. Yes, it immediately asks for you to upgrade, but I kept ex-ing out of that, though I had to re-log in with every move I made...!? But anyway, it says at the top that I've used up 100% of my storage, yet when I go up to my profile, the drop down says I've only used 23%!! And I had already paid for more storage at least twice before (annually). What the heck!? I tried deleting a few photos, but... they don't go anywhere!! So... I tried upgrading to a monthly thing, but what does it do?? It tells me the upgrade I selected was invalid!! So, I tried another one. Same thing!! Needless to say, I went away and gave up! I really hope the site you mention works better, and that they don't pull the same thing photobucket has. I really don't use it so much anymore, but sometimes I use it to edit my photos. My computer doesn't seem to let me re-size photos, for example, so I have frequently uploaded them to PB simply to re-size them and save a copy.

Well, it turns out I DID get charged for a yearly subscription. I'm amazed that I wasn't charged for the monthly one, as well! I am probably going to cancel the subscription at some point, but... I have photos there that will disappear here, although I'm not sure if it matters anymore. My Hayley banner and avatar I can just upload to the other image site. A lot of the other stuff is all those shoes, earrings, and necklaces I did for those polls I put out years ago. Those would all disappear. But those would be so far down the list of threads in the Misc. board, that I doubt anyone will ever look at them again. And it's been so long ago since she was seen wearing most of those items, anyway, so I'm not sure if it matters.
Everything is saved to my computer, so it's not as if I would lose anything I don't already have. It was nice to have back up in case something happened to my computer, as is known to happen on occasion. However, carbonite usually restores everything.

However, carbonite usually restores everything. a Thread will only get bumped back up if someone posts in it, BUT that does not mean it has not been viewed. I don't always view by "Thread". I presume others don't either. Sometimes I use the "Search" function with a word or phrase I remember being used in a particular topic, it does have to be a more unusual word or phrase or you will get thousands of results. For instance "earrings" only gets 9 pages. bicycle chain only gets one result

Even so, do I really want to spend $50 a year just in case someone MIGHT be reading that thread?

Hi all, Photobucket contacted me and said I was over their "free account" limit of 250 images. I had over 800 images but whittled it down to about 400, mostly HWI forum images. Even if had 250 images, they would still be watermarked. So I am switching over to postimage.org...I should start in the next few days...so please excuse any missing images! If you happen to notice any newly broken image links...let me know! Thanks very much... Joe

Just noting that the image hosting site Photobucket has had another change in their policy. From September 9, all free accounts which have used 25 mb or more of bandwidth will see their images blurred. They have posted a notice here... photobucket.com/notice-intermediate/

Sorry that the image hosting site that I use, postimages.org will alter its business. It will only offer its full services to paying customers. Us freeloaders will see a pixel size limit and adverts to contend with. postimages.org/plans

It would be very convenient if Proboards had image hosting within it's own control or hosting system.

I am fed up with having to move to different hosting sites every time the one I'm using changes its policy and starts charging. These days I mostly use Facebook or email if I want to include images. I think it is possible to embed Facebook images on Proboards, but I've never tried it.

The adverts you mention appear as notifications and, with a bit of help from a friend, they are easy to block. Also, I don't have a shortcut to the site on my computer and the adverts have stopped.
