Just over 15% of tickets have been sold so far but still early days.

Marty Whelan just gave the concert date a mention a couple of times this morning at around 8:45.
he also expressed a desire that Hayley might come and have a chat with him on the air again when she is over for the concert.

Approximately 35% to date across all areas have been sold. I would be surprised if the concert goes ahead if it doesn't reach at least 50%. Martin

That would be a bummer. After I've booked flights and hotel that cost many times more than the concert ticket. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Hopefully if there's some promo for the event, the tickets will sell. It probably doesn't help that the concert doesn't yet appear in the 'What's On' section of the National Concert Hall's website (as it's too far away). I'm sure once it gets onto the 'What's On' page, people casually scrolling through the website will decide to book a ticket. I looked for the concert on the website and couldn't actually see it unless I searched for 'Hayley Westenra'. Right now, people probably aren't going to seek out a concert by Hayley -- the tickets will sell by people seeing posters/flyers at the venue and listings on the website. I think the concert will go ahead -- it seems to be selling at a better rate than a lot of the other shows on the NCH's website. In fact, nothing much in the main auditorium at the NCH is selling well at all. I had a look at some of the upcoming concerts and the seats are mostly empty. Maybe the majority of concert goers are last minute casual attendees? I don't think anyone has anything to worry about.

Well, I'm worried, and I'm going to start trying to tweet about it on Hayleysforum as often as possible. It certainly doesn't help that her own website doesn't even list it, and especially that it wasn't even added the other day when they updated her site!

The concert has been listed on the front page of the HWI website since 23rd. February but now, I have added a large banner too, at the top. I'll also send a message and link to our 11,000 Youtube subscribers - some of them may well be in, or able to get to, Dublin! Hmmm... I wonder if we can do something similar with our Facebook readers? There's our News and Updates box at the top of the forum, too. Every little bit helps. Hopefully! Cheers, Dave

Cheers, Dave That's the way do do it Dave, a bit of positive thinking and actions. That's what her fanbase are here to do. The NCH will probably start putting posters in their on street poster sites around Dublin nearer to the date of the concert.

My brother picked up this brochure in the NCH for me and here is the page advertising Hayley's Concert. It is in the APRIL-JUNE 2016 edition!

Martin Has ticket sales been affected because it's a Saturday night concert? The price of a hotel room in Dublin at the weekend may be pricing people out of going. Well, those that don't live in Dublin anyway.
