I completely forgot this album was coming out, have ordered it now, waiting for it to arrive. I can't wait to listen to No Surprises. I loved this on the show; Lucy has a brilliant voice.

The interview starts just after 2:37 mins on the timer bar HEREI am really very pleased to be writing this post about one of our own, from Dublin in Ireland. Marty Whelan interviewed the delightful Lucy O'Byrne this morning (4th April 2016) at about 9:35 He chatted with her about The Voice and her 1st album Debut which Marty has in his hand and Lucy has never seen before, Yes this is the first time she has seen the finished product. Lovely to hear Lucy on radio in Ireland. He plays Man with the Child in his eyes, the song written by Kate Bush and is more than complimentary on her choice of songs. Marty is charming as always and he knows his music and plays a few other tracks from the album: Habanera and O mio babbino caro. Marty in the Morning Home Page

Marty Whelan on RTE lyric FM played Lucy's Siúil a rún at about 9:30 this morning. Siúil a rún Traditional arrangement by David Downes who did a lot of the arrangements for Celtic Woman. I'm still waiting for my pre release signed copy of the album to arrive in the post, so I got a copy of the album in my local branch of Golden Discs in Nutgrove Shopping Centre in Churchtown in Dublin. The assistant had a little difficulty finding the album, Filed under O'......... the proper place, but will people remember that when they go to look for it in a year or so.

I have this album now ad have listened a few times and love it! Recently I have been against CC albums full of covers and have stopped buying some artists' albums because of this and while this album is all covers there are some interesting choices on here and I love the pop song covers like No Surprises and All Of Me and I like the mixture of songs on the album. Lascia Ch'io Pianga is one of my favourites also. I hope Lucy can release more albums and maybe some original material.

Here's a great interview with Lucy in Cheltenham. The critics are saying she's "quite possibly the best Maria since Julie Andrews herself". I'll find out for myself when I see her next month !

Thanks Jeff, that is a delightful interview, I did send in a request to Lyric FM last week for something by Lucy and Hayley.
I'll have a go again next week while Marty is away at the opera in Italy.
