I see Brian Lane has hired Valerie Potter as Artist Development Manager who like Brian used to be with Bandana Management who were or maybe still are Hayley's management ! If Hayley did go down the pledging route I feel she'd have to involve her fans in choosing the music but having a large number of Twitter followers is no guarantee of success. It's free to follow someone on Twitter, a different matter when it comes to putting your hand in your pocket. Hayley has around 21000 followers. Another singer I know has 23000 but only 53 were willing to pledge so it failed ! Then again a member of this forum, Kristyn Murphy only has 1333 followers and only 14 pledged but the album still got made, I assume because she put her own money into it, or her Church did. Sorry mods I'm off topic but I think this is important enough to post anyway. If Hayley has changed management then that would explain the delay in the next album.  |

That is wonderful news Jeff.
To be chosen to sing the part of Maria is really the ultimate compliment for our dearest Lucy,
Julie Andrews was probably one of the best singers of our century,
I say our century because I always feel like an intruder in this century as if it belongs to a completely different generation. I took great singers like Julie for granted at the time, I assumed all singers were great singers, the radio didn't play bad singers in the sixties generally because bad singers would never have gotten themselves a record contract or radio airtime. So most of the time you only heard the best of whatever was available on records from the charts.

Oh come off it Comet, there were poor singers back then too. It's just that they are the ones you have forgotten about, they don't get played these days. So you only remember the good stuff.

So Island is part of Universal now. Looking forward to an album on a real CD,
this download thing just does not appeal to me,
I like the ritual,
select something you want to listen to,
place the disc in the machine,
switch on the amplifier,
make yourself comfortable,
press play and relax,
or browse the lyrics and photos in the sleeve notes / insert.
I find the cooling fans and screens on computers a distraction from the listening pleasure or worse an irritation.
Huh ! "Cooling Fans" could mean so many things

Lucy is busy with "The Sound of Music" but still has time to release her debut album which is out in March. https://www.instagram.com/p/BAzMMsIkvzB I'm looking forward to that since there isn't much else coming out to be honest. Camilla is half-way through her third album, Lucy Kay is in "Joseph" till July and Hayley...well.....who knows ? Many keyboards have been tapped at length on the subject of her next album. It's like that play "Waiting for Godot" where everyone puts a lot of time and effort in discussing a character who never actually appears !  Or maybe I just smoke the same stuff as Comet !!  |
