Thanks for that, Richard. After I'd posted I remembered I hadn't clicked on the clapperboard ! Next week is Anti-Bullying Week and Lucy will be talking about her role as an anti-bullying ambassador on "Lorraine" next Wednesday 19th November at 8.30am on ITV1. In the meantime she has just been up to a conference in Blackpool to run a singing workshop.

If you stand outside a theatre on a cold and windy clifftop for long enough, eventually someone will take pity on you, stop their car and say "Hi!"
At the BIC on Saturday Lucy sang 4 arias from her album: Habanera, Vissi d'Arte, O mio babbino caro and Nessun Dorma. She was excellent and deservedly received a standing ovation. She later joined Collabro in "Come What May" and this video is from a fan at Southend where the camera police were less diligent.
Fans who have met her all say the same thing, she's lovely !

Yes, I hope she lasts a bit longer that the 2013 winner! It's the risk you run when you take the Simon Cowell shilling I'm afraid.

My meeting with Lucy was indeed fortuitous. My dad was a journalist and I think he was looking out for me on Saturday as this could all so easily have gone wrong and almost did ! I'd been waiting for about 4 hours and thought I really should be getting home for a meal and to get ready for the show when at 4.25pm I heard a car go down the ramp towards the stage door. All the other performers had arrived so I thought I must have missed her but something made me turn back and look round the corner, especially as I could hear the engine still running. To get to the stage door you have to press an intercom button at the top of a ramp. Security then raise a barrier midway down the ramp to let the vehicle in. Only a short time ago the ramp was open due to a maintenance truck but it had closed only minutes before. I walked down the ramp to see a large red Mazda car had driven past the intercom and stopped in front of the electric barrier. I could see a large man in the drivers seat but the passenger side appeared to be empty when suddenly I caught a glimpse of a leopard-skin coat. My heart leapt ! OMG IT'S HER !! They were running late. The theatre is in the middle of a one-way system. I'd tweeted Lucy directions but she still seemed to have got lost. Lucy had a map and countless printouts over her knees ! As I approached her window two things struck me: she was smaller than I expected (she wears huge heels on stage ) and she does look a bit like Maria Callas. Two things could now have happened: either she was feeling stressed and not want to talk or she would wind the window down. Lucky for me she did ! She seemed to recognise me (she follows me on Twitter as does her mum) and was totally charming ! I gave her some very expensive hand-made Belgian chocolates and another box for her mum. (Bribery always works ! Remember that, Richard. If you want to meet the twins, give Mrs Moxon a box of chocs!) After that of course she could hardly refuse my request for an autograph. I let her keep my Sharpie pen in case she had others to sign. She kindly took a "selfie" with her very expensive looking phone. (I don't have a phone, cheap or expensive!) I told her I was useless at technology ! The next bit still feels surreal. I went back up to the intercom, called the Security Manager and said, as calmly as my emotions would allow: "Could you please let Lucy Kay in, she's performing here tonight!" I gave him the car registration number and the barrier went up and the car went on its way. "Thank you very much!" Lucy called out as they disappeared underground. An evergreen memory for life ! After the show I waited in the same place and this time her car stopped right in front of me and we had a longer chat through the window. (Well, it was cold and windy!) She introduced me to her partner David (lucky chap!) who was doing the driving. I said she had a nice coat, stroking the material, and she was very keen to point out it wasn't real ! I never doubted that for a second ! I told her I thought she'd been wonderful (which she was) and to come back soon. She told me her next album will be a crossover album. (YAY!) and to my amazement asked me if I had a request for a song to go on it ! Of course I did. It had been a long day for both of them (she was in Brighton the night before) so I said I wouldn't keep them and we said our goodbyes at around 11pm at the end of a truly memorable evening. Besides, their car was blocking the ramp meaning Collabro's minibus had to leave by a side exit, much to the displeasure of their many fans who found themselves waiting in the wrong place !

Well done Jeff, and thanks for the tip! Richard My dad usually got an interview with whoever he liked. He had a saying: "Bribe the mother. Flatter the daughter!" There was a lot of flattery going on Saturday night I can tell you !

I thought I'd post this so you can see what Lucy's autograph looks like (and to practice linking to photobucket!). She insisted on taking 2 photos. Sorry the autograph is upside down but you can make out it was on the last page of her album booklet, the only place where she wouldn't write over a photo of herself!

It seems Lucy likes to start the day with a big breakfast.
I don't know where she puts it all. Well maybe I do ! Personally, I don't see the point in tweeting a photo of something you're about to eat but if anyone is interested, for my tea tonight I'm having a glass of milk and Belgian buns !
