Never had a problem with Azazon, who have my card details on record. Makes buying from them easy. My Paypal account got "compromised" I was told and asked to re-register. Wasn't sure if it was a scam so didn't bother, altough it might have been them since I can no longer use my Paypal account. Tried to re-register, but the amount of information they wanted was mindblowing - life's to short for forms like that. I could enter my card details many times in the time that would have taken.

I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing if Lucy has separated from Simon Cowell. I also quite like pledge music, although some things are very expensive you can just buy the album in advance and then there are all the updates and things which you do not get when artists record with a record company and as Lucy said in the video she gets more control this way and hopefully can release more original material. Kerry Ellis also released her last album through pledge music and some people paid quite a lot to sing on stage with her, I was at one of the concerts when a pledger was singing with her so some people can obviously afford it. I think I would want more info on what will be on the album before pledging.

The problem with pledge music is you never know what you are getting. Sure, if you rate the artist enough then you might do it. But the artists I would trust like that I could count on the fingers of one hand. How do you know it will be worth the money. You don't until you hear it.

Well I have pledged because Lucy promised me when I met her that she would record my favourite song, one which Hayley hasn't so far ! I opened my Twitter account this morning to find a dozen private messages, all from the same person. I'm afraid she has parted ways with Sony Classical. She says she was never with Simon Cowell. I didn't argue the point but I thought Syco has a stake in Sony but I may be wrong ? It seems selling 35000 copies wasn't enough for Sony. I'm no Einstein but I reckon they made about £350,000 out of her AND DIDN'T PAY HER A PENNY. She says all the money "had to be paid back as they didn't make enough !" BGT wannabees be warned ! Looks like record labels want at least a million out of you to extend your album deal ! Camilla tweeted me to say how "heartless" it was. Lucy is not looking for a new label which she now regards as a "big trap" but she does have a new home in Airdree which needs paying for. They say there is no sentiment in business. I'm glad I'm not in business ! I hope she reaches her target. She's a lovely girl and a great singer and she doesn't deserve to be treated like this. No- one does .

Yes Jeff, absolutely spot on. There is a long list of artists who have done well in TV talent shows who are hardly ever heard of again. More and more artists these days are going independent, and I don't blame them. Especially since Rebecca Newman has shown how you can be successful and even get to No. 1 in the chart without a record deal.

Well, I don't think I'm betraying any secrets there. Surely the more people who know about Lucy's position the better ? It could get her more pledgers which is what we all want. ! CD sales figures are readily available from the BPI (Dave often quotes them) and the press reported she'd moved house and to be honest I think most of us had already guessed what had happened when Lucy joined pledgemusic.com. I hope she makes her target. We don't want to see her wave goodbye !

There is a great interview with Lucy Kay in the Classical Crossover Magazine Spring issue 2015 ... issuu.com/puretalentonline/docs/ccm_spring2015?e=0/12294191 (page 31) Other artists featured are Lisa Kelly, Barbara Padilla, Margaret Keys, Arina Domski, and Fionnuala Moynihan. Please note the magazine was created by HWI's very own Natasha Poholka!

Lucy has just announced an Autumn tour : Hopefully this will help her raise the money she needs for her second album. We've exchanged several DMs and I have to say she's quite upbeat about things so I'm not as depressed about her prospects as I was a couple of weeks back. Surprisingly, the website for one of the venues states Lucy's next album will be out in September ! Now there's confidence for you !

Thanks Jeff.
This (Theatre Royal Margate) is within 5 miles of my home. So I think I will go,Iv'e just got to see if anyone else wants to come along before I book. It looks good value at £18.

Good value indeed, Jim ! The venue I'm going to costs £28 and that was £12 cheaper than when Mr Cowell was in charge !

I think she's going for smaller venues since a full small venue is better than a big one with empty seats. If they all sell out quickly then she may be able to record her album before the tour. I see some ticket agencies don't open booking till tomorrow. I always phone the venue direct and get a front seat. Agencies have blocks they need to fill so you don't necessarily get the best seat available.
Today Lucy is attending her nan's funeral. She says they will hear her nan's favourite song, "Bridge over troubled water." I don't know if that means Lucy herself will sing it. If so I would say it's pretty likely to be on the new album.
