The album is now on Japanese Itunes my sister checked a few days ago and it wasn't there to preorder which I was a bit surprised about, but is available now

It's been there for the past two days, I listened to all the samples, I liked Hana wa saku, but that inori song, I'd have been just happy if the song was sung only by the Japanese woman (it doesn't make sense I know in a Hayley album, just to make a point), the moment hayley started singing, not that she was singing bad but the beauty of the song was lost, absolutely. I believe in the saying "to each his own", but I can guarantee that if all of you are now Hayley fans because of the voice you heard then, then All yes All of you would agree with me that the Japanese woman's solo bit was just mesmerizing and way above Hayley's portions. I wasn't really proud to say this, but it's the truth. Hayley needs to learn to also tone things down and sing it the gentle legato way. New album or not, this is something she needs to understand, I'll be surprised if we hear anything classical in the new album now. But you all will by now know I'll be the most happy, but I'm not expecting it too much. I apologize to those who feel I've been on about this for quite some time, but it's an immediate response to a particular song in this album, the sample of which was just open to the public. So I still think it was relevant. I will not further add to this topic of discussion.

Simba, of course we became fans because of the voice we heard "then", but we are still fans because we are still fans of her voice as it is now, as well. Too bad you're not. Even if I've said the songs themselves haven't excited me all that much, it's not because Hayley's voice is lacking, it's just maybe the tune that isn't the most exciting to me, that's all. Yes, the Japanese woman (doesn't she have a name?) sounds very lovely, but most of us also think that Hayley sounds great, as well. You're right, to each their own, so we're not wrong if we still think she sounds amazing. When people sing duets, they usually don't sing the exact same way in unison, there's usually harmonizing, or whatever it's called (I'm no expert on music terminology), and that's what Hayley is doing. If you enjoy the way the other woman sounds better, then great. She does sound nice. But it doesn't mean you need to dismiss Hayley's voice as not very good.
If we're talking about what we would all have been happy with, I will be happier when we finally get the "real" album from Hayley. I'm sure that will come in due time, though, hopefully sooner rather than later. And hopefully no more of these extras in between, it's time for the real thing. To me, this album is to help promote her upcoming concerts, as well as keep up her fanbase in Japan. She hasn't been able to perform there much since the tsunami, and I seem to recall Paradiso sales were quite low (how were Hushabye sales), so I think this is sort of a necessary thing to do, more than anything else. Though it could be the other way around, the concerts are to promote the album. Who knows? I'm just trying to be patient (yet again) until the real thing comes.

Simba , if you're so disappointed with Hayley, why are you still here? WE can't do anything about your complaints. If you want something done, get in touch with Hayley's management. -Taylor

LOL Taylor, I don't think her management can change how her voice sounds. I would be horrified if they could. Simba, I suggest just sitting back and waiting patiently for her real album. I have a feeling she'll keep you a fan with that. Maybe not, but I feel sure she will.

LOL, sorry for the confusion. I just meant there's a better chance of them getting in touch with her than us. -Taylor

See that's the thing, it's not that easy Bamafan, Hayley has become so much a part of my life and a big reason of who I am now that I cannot simply 'un-fan' myself just because I'm disappointed with her current 'singing'. I knew I didn't like the singing as much but still everyday I checked the itunes japan for samples, and searching everywhere around if they would possibly put the music videos up, because nothing else excites me as much as new hayley content, whether I like it or not. I make sure I still get to see all Hayley's new pics because it makes me happy. It's funny that though I feel a little disappointed it hasn't brought me down even a bit as a fan, so I guess you understand the difference there. I loved Hushabye even though most didn't, because I was okay with her singing like that for those songs. And I'm sure Libby, I'd love Hayley's real album if it's going to be songs that suit the new singing style. Which is why I was clear in my post earlier that I'd only like her to sing classical songs the classical way, no? Atleast when she's singing it with a person singing it classically, because the difference is too obvious. But by the looks of it I don't think we'll be seeing much classical content, so that also is okay with me. We see Chloe collaborating with some Rock band for a performance, I thought she sounded amazing. So I don't want Hayley in a box. But I disliked Chloe's recent parts in Celtic woman because she was singing it too poppy, now is that putting things to perspective? Hayley in her attempts to find her true style in singing every song the same way these days, be it a japanese classical number or a lullaby or a powerful number like BOTW (I liked how she sang in that), not so versatile anymore? I don't know only a new album will answer that I guess. My posts seem like I hate Hayley now, but I guess it's the way I'm phrasing these things, I'm known to express my opinions in a strong way, which is not a great thing. But it's a result of how much I love Hayley and the small insecure feeling that I get within me to see Hayley go off-track here and there. But I'm guessing my staying here all this while should show

Over the 34 years that they've released songs since 1980, they've had many different styles and sounds. There's plenty of fans that worship the 1980 to 1984 material that don't so much like the new stuff etc etc I don't think that makes them less of fans at all.

True that Jillian! But I just listened to the full version of Inori, I thought it was brilliant! I have a new favourite, The duet was stunning! The instrumentation was out of the world, one of the best backings for Hayley. I like it more than Hana wa saku (which I haven't heard fully yet, but I think it's rather repetitive). There are some high notes in this song that reminded me of Hayley's old voice and it really moved me. Now I really can't wait for the new album!

Simba,
There is nothing wrong with Hayley's voice. You need to hear her live, not just on recordings (yes, I know it is difficult for you). If you had heard her in Dublin last night, I'm sure you would have been just as blown away as the rest of us who were there were. Yes, she has changes, but she is just as awesome as ever nonetheless, if not more so.

Well,it is as I feared. Today I got the dreaded card through the post asking me for money before the Royal Mail will deliver my album. And once again they have added that £8 "handling charge". I'm getting fed up with being ripped off with out newly privatised postal service. Where is the competing service that the privatisation was supposed to make possible? I know the EU was behind it of course, you can't have a national monopoly that operates in only one country, but where is the competition and how can CDJapan ensure that the cheapest competitor handles the mail they send me?
