Wow! Brilliant version I think this performance has the edge over all others. My favorite performance from this concert! Very very heart felt, I can imagine how it would have been to hear it live! And I can't wait for this song to be in her new album, it seems most certain now. Thank you so much martin for your effort, despite the situation that you're in , Sorry to hear about it. Watching the video after reading your post was an emotional moment.

Thanks Dave. I figured it probably wouldn't be, but I just wanted to know for sure. I would guess that she still has it, perhaps for personal use, and then any she might use in concert would probably be ones provided by whoever provides instruments for her concerts... where do they get the instruments from, and who provides them? I just realized I never thought of how they work that all out, and just who "they" are, anyway. And thanks yet again, Martin. I thought she sounded amazing. I didn't notice much difference from the old videos in how gentle she sounded, other than the fact that seems to have more power in her voice. The only thing I'd say is that it might've been a little bit slower and more drawn out this time, but only a little.

Hello everyone I've been doing a bit of research of my own about this concert and have come up with a few interesting statistics: New SongsTo the best of my knowledge, Hayley has never sung "You Raise Me Up" or "I Believe" in a live performance before although she may have sung the latter in one of her far east concerts. The last time she sang "Talk To Me" was back in 2009 and "I Know You By Heart" during 2011. Most of the audience at Union Chapel would never have heard Hayley sing "What You Never Know" before either, because she hasn't sung that since 2005! I heard her sing it at my very first concert at St James Piccadilly in September and again at Tewkesbury Abbey in November of the same year, although it was excluded from the set list for Hayley's Beverley Minster concert a few weeks later. Number of SongsIt has been suggested that Hayley sang more songs at Union Chapel than ever before - I concur. having looked through the set lists for the concerts I have attended, the previous record was held by Hayley's Paradiso tour where, for every concert except The Sage Gateshead (with only two encores), Hayley sang 21 songs including three encores. Union Chapel's record of 24 including the duet with Jonathan will, I think, be hard to beat. There was a hint there might have been a fourth encore but after "Songbird" I wonder if Hayley had anything left to give. FirstsThe new songs, of course "Bridge Over Troubled Water" (some of us did get a hit of that last year when she sang a few verses as part of her sound check) "Talk To Me" with Hayley on guitar - amazing and beautiful. Best ever performance by a guest artistHas to be Jonathan's magnificent performance of "Gethsemane" It really was a privilege to have been there at what may well become known as Hayley's MegaGig Best wishes Grant P.S. There should be a few photos later. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

There was a hint there might have been a fourth encore after "Songbird" Best wishes Grant I don't think so Grant, the time on the clock stopped the concert. After the concert I spoke to the lads at the mixing desk, I spotted a huge screened db meter facing the desk operator, still picking up signal from the venue and reading around 70db. I asked him about it and he said they had to be extremely careful no to exceed a general level of 85db all night long. He indicated that the neighbours exerted quite some power over events at the venue including sound levels and finishing times. I think that is why the word "CURFEW" 10:30 was on our tickets and at some venues the consequences for overrunning your time are serious, including the loss of licence to operate as a music venue and large fines. Paddy kindly informed me of the origins of the word curfew, I learn something new every day, well most days but I forget at least two things everyday The word "curfew" comes from the French phrase "couvre-feu", which means "cover the fire". It was used to describe the time of blowing out all lamps and candles. It was later adopted into Middle English as "curfeu", which later became the modern "curfew". Its original meaning refers to a law made by William The Conqueror that all lights and fires should be put out at the ringing of an eight o'clock bell.

New SongsTo the best of my knowledge, Hayley has never sung "You Raise Me Up" or "I Believe" in a live performance before although she may have sung the latter in one of her Japanese concerts. Indeed she did sing I Believe live earlier this year, but in Taiwan, not Japan. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSVGduUTN7wMartin D

Thanks Martin - thought someone would know. I have amended my post to read far east instead of Japan An interesting insight Comet - clears up a few puzzling questions. So, had there not have been time constraints, would we have had that fourth encore that the lady in front of us requested I wonder? Or maybe Hayley was thankful for the curfew. Pics following. Cheers Grant

Actually grant, Hayley has sang You Raise me up more than a couple of times in her recent concerts So it's not the first. I'd like to link to this one, www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt0OJkit6bM&list=RD28FSVGduUTN7w just a few months back, which I think is a much better performance than the union chapel one Powerful enough, and emotion still intact. I keep listening to the last few verses, it's just stunning.

This one is not the greatest video, and Hayley goes walkabout and disappears off the screen in the middle of it. I can only plead that I wasn't paying attention to my screen, preferring to watch Hayley instead. But it is still a fine performance of Gabriel's Oboe/Whispers in a Dream. youtu.be/_I9KZaRv4F8I have also had a go at improving the brightness and colour balance of several of my other videos from this concert, so you might notice a difference if you play them again. Hello Annime, Since you have mentioned in particular that you absolutely loved hearing "Summer Fly" at the concert, and will soon have Hayley's album containing that song, here are a few bits of remotely connected trivia which you may find of interest. From the fine print accompanying your CD, you will see that Donnell Leahy and Natalie MacMaster (husband and wife) with Natalie's band produced the music for "Summer Fly", track 12. Given below is the address of a rather surprising video (the surprise part being Hayley's performance halfway through the video, speaking of versatility) showing Natalie and her band's pianist, Mac Morin, performing. (Hayley and Bela Fleck were featured guests at Natalie's concert, "Bringing It Home", in Nova Scotia, back in 2006.) How nice it would be if we were able to see a video of her band producing the background music for "Summer Fly". www.youtube.com/watch?v=daq8YZsls_0If you Google -youtube summer fly line dance- you will find about 25 videos of groups dancing to Hayley's recording. It is apparently a popular song to dance to. Hayley sang this song at the Frangoulis show in Boston with the Boston Pops back in June 2012, but it was dropped from the DVD of the show that was made for sale. hwi.proboards.com/indexcgi?board=hayley05&action=display&thread=2490Enjoy, BobS PS Can't let this go unmentioned - youtube.com/watch?v=Vl_lnM21pb4Thanks for that. The CD arrived today. Haven't had a chance to play it yet, best place for me to blast some music out is in the car so that is top of my list on the way to work in the morning. I will have a look at those You Tube links.

Hi Joe,
There was nobody in the balcony at all, though I thought the ground floor was pretty much sold out. The show was not advertised, except on Hayley's fan forums and Twitter/Facebook. As Hayley remarked at the start, she did not feel nervous because she knew her audience was full of friends. And she did us proud. Probably the best conert I have ever been to in my life. And I have been to hundreds.
