Thank you Marian,
I don't think we knew anything about this, it sounds exciting!
I am seeking confirmation from Hayley's management so watch this space. In the meantime, to be on the safe side, I will mark the thread title "unconfirmed".
Cheers, Dave
EDIT: Now confirmed by Hayley by Twitter (but not the venues or dates), amended accordingly.

Mmmm....... Interesting but Hayley is not headlining! However, it will be good exposure for Hayley in the UK. It also possibly discounts an Autumn release for the new album, unless of course it it related to this tour? Martin

This is an interesting development. Presumably they are expecting to sell a lot of tickets, with 8 large venues. Can David Essex still fill big arenas? Not heard much of him since the 70s. But he was certainly very big back then. Looking at his Wikipedia entry it seems he has done a fair bit of acting and musical theatre as well as singing. If he can still pull them in, it will be a very good way for Hayley to reach people from the world of pop music, who might not have come across her before. Anyway, it is something for us all to look forward to. It's a long time since the last Hayley concert in the UK.

Hi 'Martins', and all,
Yes it will be interesting to see the extent of Hayley's involvement, what with three other supporting acts as well. The details on that may not become clear for quite some time so I am currently undecided whether or not to go to more than one of them. I did two arenas for Il Divo, Hayley had her own discrete half hour warm-up spot then, so this one may well be different.
We can set up a Concerts Tour sub-board as we did with the Il Divo tour in due course, when we have more details and are sure that everyone knows about this thread. We will add it to the schedules as soon as somewhere 'official' confirms the dates and venues (though Hayley's Tweet confirms the tour itself, and her involvement).
I too would expect the album release to coincide broadly with the tour, and it may provide a clue as to the album theme (if any) but we shall see.
Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
I don't think we can honestly link the album with this. I would expect the album to be released earlier than October, probably June. There seemed to be a fair bit of urgency to get the recording finished (e.g. working weekends) and the photoshoot done before Hayley went off on her travels, which to my mind points to an earlier rather than later release. If it were October, there would be time to finish the album off after her far eastern trip I would have thought. Pure speculation of course.

This theory makes the most sense. The fact that the pre-sale dates indicated a June release also make me think it'll be earlier than October. Sure, there's no confirmed release date yet, but I think the "leaked" information so far gives us an indication of when they're at least thinking about releasing it (in the UK at least). Though, I do wonder about a tour for the album. I wonder if they would wait all the way till early next year, like they did with Paradiso. I seriously don't think Hayley has made a broadway album.

It has been temporarily been removed from the official David Essex website as David apparently announced it too soon! It is still going ahead according to David on Twitter.

Hello everyone
What's worrying me a little is, that with so many well known names on the guest list, will they all be appearing at every show???. Hayley did say she would be "joining the tour" so it seems likely but I hope we get some confirmation before we need to book. These large venues can be very expensive and I would be more than a little disappointed if I booked and later found that Hayley was not appearing!
I'm not a huge fan of arena venues at the best of times but, on a positive note, there is a potential for a 10,000 plus new audience for Hayley which has to be good exposure for her.
Best wishes Grant

Best wishes Grant I agree Grant. The other thing is, with the fan bases of the other artists appearing unless you book early, you could be a long way from the action. I have enjoyed the intimacy of the small venues where I have seen Hayley.

Hi Marian, Yes, that is what I was informed yesterday - that "someone" jumped the gun but I can't confirm who started it (it wasn't Hayley). None of the tour *details* can yet be relied on, which is why we are not yet adding it to Hayley's schedules. It must be very annoying for Hayley's management when time after time, some organization (usually) or another releases information before everything is finalised. I have temporarily added a suitable note of caution to your initial post. Dave

Hi Folks,
Like Grant, I am not keen on large venues and only The Brighton Centre appeals to me. I went to a David Essex Concert last December and spent most of the time standing up as everyone else was.
