On last Wednesday's show, Becky played 'Sleep On'. I would like to think it was played in honour of newborn Princess Charlotte, who soundly slept whilst being carried out of hospital to an awaiting world. I think that is very likely! Wasn't George sleeping, too? I thought they both were.

I haven't heard anything about Paul Mealor recently. Perhaps he's busy writing a new lullaby for Princess Charlotte! Richard

I haven't heard anything about Paul Mealor recently. Perhaps he's busy writing a new lullaby for Princess Charlotte! Richard For all the good it'll do her. She'll probably never hear it, just as George probably never did. Nobody ever said whether the album was actually delivered to them, and whether anybody actually turned it on if it did arrive. If it did, it wouldn't have killed them to mention it for Hayley's benefit.

I would like to think it was played in honour of newborn Princess Charlotte, who soundly slept whilst being carried out of hospital to an awaiting world. I think that is very likely! Wasn't George sleeping, too? I thought they both were. Prince George also slept through the crowd of media camped outside St Mary's Hospital. I really have not been listening to the KITC radio show as often as I would like. I love Hayley coincidences so here is one from today. In writing my post about 'Sleep On' I looked it the song's lyrics to see if they would also suit Princess Charlotte. I also read on how Paul Mealor wrote a contemporary version on the hymn 'Ubi Caritas' for the marriage of TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. So I looked at the lyrics for that song. Turns out that 'Ubi Caritas' was the Communion hymn sung at church today! Not sure if if it was Paul's version or not, but I remembered the first few lines! And to start Mass, the entrance song was 'Morning Has Broken' ...sweetly covered by Hayley on her My Gift To You album! So that was my church singing sorted!

It sounds like last Monday, the first day of summer, when I was deluged, frozen and just about blown off the Pennine Way. Martin D

The first day of summer? Does summer start earlier in the UK than in the US? Now, that's just silly. We all live in the same hemisphere. We had rain earlier last week, too, but now it's hot! Anyway, the coincidence I was thinking of was the Summer Rain video.

The meteorological summer starts on 1st June. All Northern Hemisphere weather records are based on that. And we were talking about weather, not astronomy. 1st June was last Monday. And yes, not only summer rain but summer freezing wind too. Someone said it was more like November than June.

Well, pardon me, but here in the US, I've never heard about seasons starting at any other time than when the calendar says so. Even the weather people... the meteorologists... tell us when the first full day of summer (etc.) starts, and that's always the equinox (or whatever), NEVER anything else. LOL So summer starts on June 1st AND on the 21st. That makes so much sense! If the weather people don't tell me it's summer on the 1st day of June, that's not my fault. LOL

Of course they don't tell you. THEY know, so they assume everyone else knows too. I only found out about it myself a year or two ago, through following a similar discussion to this one. So for nearly 60 years I believed the seasons started on the 21st of the month. BTW it is a solstice for the longest and shortest days. The equinox (equal night) comes in spring and autumn.
