Good on Hayley for spotting that! I just went onto hayleywestenra.com/baby/ and it says that the competition is now closed and has been since about the 26th of July (only 4 days after the event). Goodness me, they didn't give new mothers too much time! Maybe it was on an automatic shutdown schedule based on Prince George being born on the 13th as originally rumoured. Good to see that Hayley is sorting it out. Although, it's not really her responsibility.

Well, I know Hayley was concerned that Decca had undersestimated the number of babies that would be born that day. But with their lamentable promotion of Hushabye, the number they gave away would struggle to reach double figures i think, even without the cutoff date. Hayley deserves better.

BTW, it would be interesting to know how many copies the did actually give away.

Oh, just stop your nitpicking, Simba. Why can't anybody say anything other than what you approve of? Martin knew what they meant, he meant he would make his own amateur music video. He doesn't need you to tell him he can't say that because that wasn't what the person meant. The thread is about Hushabye, so there's no reason why someone can't mention recording a video at a concert where Hayley might sing a song from Hushabye. Please stop policing the conversations on this forum, it's making things very unpleasant.

I've shared Hayley's message on our Facebook page. Decca seem to have caused a lot of confusion, probably because they lost the plot, so well done Hayley for trying to sort it out. Richard

Wait to get them? I received a download link as soon as I registered and already have them sitting nicely in my PC!
Cheers, Dave

Well, my email machine only refreshes every 10 minutes. Then I have to transfer the message to another machine to download the images. But they are now safely installed in my wallpaper randomiser on one of my machines at any rate.

That's a bit of an oddly worded message. What are they really talking about? Sorry that the competition was ended early? Sorry that people whose baby was born on 13 July 2013 weren't actually entitled to a CD as advertised? How confusing. Not really sure what Decca are apologising for..

Hi Jillian, I think the advertised 13 July date mislead everyone. I also think that people wanting to register on the website on the 22nd or shortly thereafter saw that the giveaway had ended.

So did they actually give away any CDs? Anyway, not to worry, I think Sue and I are a bit past producing a baby on that date, especially given the short notice. But at least we have the wallpapers.

I'm wondering if it's really okay to be downloading the wallpapers that are intended for the people who wanted to enter the CD giveaway. I mean, I guess it's not taking anything away from them, and it's probably not hurting anything. But I'm not sure that's the point. They're sending this apology out to a specific group of people; they're not apologising to any of you. So it just seems kind of dishonest to me, in a way. Just taking advantage of free stuff just because you can. That's just the way I see it, but you all can do what you want.
I have no interest in them myself. I prefer nature photos for my desktop. I currently have a beautiful photo of Mt. Rainier with a field of mountain wildflowers below. I've had it since last summer when I went up there and saw the beautiful flowers in person.

Hi Libby,
That's an interesting point but it's arguable for whom the website message is intended - it's just addressed to 'Hayley Westenra fans' and is on the official website, so they probably want to get the message out as widely as possible for damage limitation. Especially as those who clicked the link will (I think) go onto their mailing list if not already on it!
So I see no real problem - but we probably should not post the images here.
Cheers, Dave
