Hi everyone, I've finished the reconstruction so you can now watch Hayley's complete 21 minute set at Proms In The Park here on the HWI website: Hayley Westenra at Proms in the Park Belfast - completeTHere is a one minute insert from my BBC iPlayer screen capture, near the start, but otherwise there is nothing added, nothing taken away. It's longer than the normal Youtube limit (15 minutes) but our channel may have recently been upgraded to allow longer. Shall I try? Cheers, Dave Oh yes...please do

Thanks for that Dave. Just watched the whole thing. Fantastic! What a fabulous performance. Blown away yet again.
I too have been told by Youtube that the 15 minute limit no longer applies. Not that is makes any difference to me, since my camera has a limit on HD video that is less than that.
I just can't get my brain around how good Hayley is. Finest singer on the planet, and perhaps the best of all time. And I have been privileged to see her perform a few times. But I always want more. No concert is ever long enough, it always goes by far too quickly. And no matter how many times I see her perform the same songs, or listen to her albums, I never tire of it. And I always want more. If I am ever so misguided as to put Paradiso on my car CD player, I just play it over and over and over again, and it is a real wrench to replace it with something else, although I sometimes do. Or I would never listen to anything else. What an artist!

And Dave, that file, as downloaded is 168 Megabytes. I wouldn't mind betting that the file you uploaded was bigger than that.
A frustration that I have is that YouTube degrades quality. I upload a HD video, then when I download it again the quality is worse and the fiie is much smaller. Some of my own recent videos when re-downloaded are far less sharp than the originals. Do you have the same problem, or is there a way round it?

Hi Martin D, This one is directly on our website not (yet) on Youtube so what you see is what you get. I limit them to 1 Mbps as they are intended for live streaming, not downloading (we were asked to do that years ago, which is why no download links appear so I can't discuss that). I think at 1Mbps and using h264 compression, it gives a fairly good picture, doesn't hammer the website too much and most people will be able to play them OK. For Youtube, I upload 720p HD at 5 to 10 Mbps, and 1080 HD at 10 to 12 Mbps but Youtube re-encode them to about 3 and 5 Mbps respectively, which lowers the visible quality slightly even on the highest setting. My Youtube upload file for this will be 1.1 gigabytes at 5 Mbps, which is OK for people with slow connections because of YTs lower quality options that they provide. It will be SD upscaled to 720p, which I sometimes do to force YT to use a better audio quality but it is unlikely to be better audio than the website version. I'll post the Youtube link tomorrow. Cheers, Dave

Hi everyone, I'm a bit unsure about putting Hayley's complete performance on Youtube because it's three songs and is much longer than usual. After some thought, I have uploaded it but for the moment, it is unlisted so you will need the following link, each time you view it. You can of course view it at any time directly on the Belfast news page on the HWI website, and I will add this YT link to that page too. Hayley in Belfast complete - unlisted Youtube linkCheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
Just finished checking out the new complete Belfast YouTube entry all the way through. A very nice addition. It is apparently listed now as the view count was 1 when I started, and 13 when I finished. It will be interesting to watch how the count climbs.
Thanks, BobS
PS Not sure now about the "listed" bit. Couldn't find it by the YouTube search box at the top of the YouTube page.

The video of I Dreamed a Dream from this concert can be found on the first page of results on youtube, when you do a search on Hayley Westenra. It's the 17th one down, but that's still great! It's a recent video, as opposed to all the others, which are from at least 5 years ago now.
