I'm surprised that a subjective 'debate' has been on for over a few pages , Isn't it off-topic? I don't want to back-seat mod but it seems to be overlooked here.
If Elliot likes Susan boyle's version, then I don't see anyone disagreeing with her points. Or Maybe she needn't have compared in the first place, or maybe the person before needn't have brought up Susan's name more so. But I don't see the point of the argument.
With that said, I have to say Amalia por amor was Absolutely stunning, my sister thought it was lip synced (she heard the ending portion) That amazing it was. She needs to work on the "E Pro cesso e pasar" at the end, complicated words. But the bridge gave me goose pimples!
But her portugese, doesn't seem like she's making an attempt to get better at it, infact her recorded one had slightly better pronunciations "Can'th'as" and here "Can 'T' as" and this is the same wherever the T comes. And then rolling all the 'r's more now, I don't even know if that's a portugese thing. XD
Usually her Japanese, Chinese, Italian gets a LOT better with each performance, she corrects little things each time, but this song (sure it sound's osm!), but considering the fact that Dulce Pontes is Portuguese and that whatever she's singing should sound right, I think it needs better pronunciations XD (I like hayley's version MUCH better than Dulce's btw)
And I have no words for I dreamed a dream, I think like all of you said, that has to be her best performance of the song to date. This particular song went through this phase
1. Slow, elegant and not much emotion
2. Short words, too much emotion, kinda didn't work
3. Blend of short notes and perfectly sustained notes and the right amount of emotion and gestures.
I think this time it was perfection, really, enjoyed every bit of it. And her gown was STUNNING XD An Amazing Full gown in a long time
