Beautiful dress, and beautiful singing! Both songs were amazing, but I think I enjoyed I Dreamed a Dream the most this time. Amalia was a little more drawn out than on the album, but then the music in the choruses was as fast as ever, so I wasn't too sure about that, but otherwise it was great! I wonder if she chose a green dress because she was in Ireland? Probably.

Absolutely wonderful!! Thank you! I loved both performances, and the interview. "You're 25, you're clearly ageing," he said gallantly. Also a couple of cool screenshots: Halo Hayley: He did NOT just say that!!! -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

A big thank you to Dave, for recording the video and audio. I understand Martin D did also...much appreciated. I'll give the videos a better listen at a higher volume (it's after 2 am here) :

Thanks for the videos Dave.
Those were fantastic performances. I thought Amalia was wonderful. It's a song I think very few other singers would even attempt, and Hayley sang it brilliantly.
And I Dreamed a Dream - that felt like the best performance I have seen her do of that too. And to think that some people seem to prefer Susan Boyle's version? That seems laughable now. I don't think anyone sings it better than Hayley.

Thanks for the videos/interview Dave - much appreciated. As I posted earlier, I was lucky enough to see "Whispers" and "Amalia" on the BBC red button but missed "I Dreamed A Dream" Interesting interview technique. Fortunate that Hayley is an easy going young lady, others may not have laughed off his "ageing" comment so lightly i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

Yes great videos. Thanks Dave and Hayley.
I am a little confused about how the acts are chosen for the proms in the park. Whilst watching the BBC 2 tranmission I pressed the red button and the act at Hyde Park was Kylie Minogue. As pop acts go I think she is one of the best but clasical she isn't.

Thanks everyone, Jim I agree, Kylie was an inappropriate choice for what is supposed to be a festival of classical music - also instead of seeing the first 25 seconds of Whispers, we were left watching Terry Wogan babbling away in Hyde Park, before Hayley was quickly faded in from Belfast. Someone seems to have mis-timed it when they made the switch from pre-recorded Hyde Park, to Hayley singing 'live' (which they could have shown delayed and complete). I have updated the news page on HWI with the Amália and I Dreamed videos: www.hayley-westenra-international.com/content/proms-park-2012-belfast but I cannot yet find the second half of the Belfast concert on BBC iPlayer - though the first half is now up. When it's up, I will reconstruct "Whispers" and then post the entire "Hayley" sequence uncut, it lasted for about 21 minutes. Cheers, Dave

I had a proper listen to 'Amália' and 'I Dreamed A Dream"! Hayley was outstanding...such clear and distinct vocals. Thrilling to watch. On "Dream", one remembers where this concert is, and what was built here. The grand RMS Titanic was a ship of dreams. The camerawork was great throughout...I loved the shots of the harp strings in front of the sheet music. I enjoyed the interview as well. Now, the dress color...pine green to emerald perhaps. Another triumph, Hayley! Big thanks to Dave for bringing this to us all

I don't think anyone sings it better than Hayley. Martin D I wholeheartedly agree with you on this one. Susan's version is nice, of course, but she doesn't blow me away like Hayley does. I think for Susan it was more of a shock factor that such a nice voice came out of a lady who was not up to "Hollywood" standards (I guess you would say). That's what all the hype was about, the drama of it all. But she did sing it nicely, although it wasn't until Hayley sang it last summer that I couldn't stop listening to it. I still don't remember all the words, but I pretty much know how the whole thing sounds in my head, what part comes when, and all that. I love the part where she says "As they turn your dream to sha-a-aa-aaame!" Absolute favorite part! But I like the whole thing.

Yeah, I loved her laugh when he said that! That certainly wasn't a very gentlemanly thing to say! You wouldn't hear that from Terry Wogan (if that's his real name!) You might want to keep an eye on our local news tonight, Newsline at 6.30pm on BBC1 NI. I'd be shocked if there isn't anything about Saturday's event on it.

Oh my goodness, I am in dreamland - Amalia - fantastic! Dave I sat down with the intention of recording the audio of the Belfast concert from the site here onto my computer, I often put items like this on a memory key for playing in the car. I had HWI and the recording programme open on screen to do a quick level check to make sure there was no big crescendo to cause distortion. I clicked play on Amalia por Amor, I was completely enchanted by the performance,(Forgot entirely what I had intended to do) I have heard Hayley sing this a few times live, but this Belfast performance is just incredibly moving and beautiful, causing just a bit of "moist your eyeser" One of those magic moments in music when everything seems to fall perfectly into place.
