Well, even if everybody's PBS station doesn't get it, at least if it's on some, there's a better chance of seeing it on youtube, maybe.

So Hayley will be on her way in the next day or two. No wifi on this caravan site, so suffering the appalling slow Vodafone connection. Martin D

Hi -
"There'll Be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight" when Hayley sings in Boston this Thursday. The predicted temperature for Beantown that day is 97 degrees Fahrenheit (36 degrees Celsius). It might be a good day for the "Wannabe baker" to try her hand at a pot of Boston baked beans!

Oh, dear, it's going to be extra hot for her again? I wonder what dress(es) she'll wear. It's really important this time, since she'll be on TV! And I wonder what other songs she'll sing besides the duets? If it's really true that she's singing five or six songs, like the person told... Paige, was it?... then that means she could be singing 3 or 4 of her own songs! I hope at least 1 is from Paradiso. Hey, Martin, she might be leaving tomorrow morning (and it is early morning in the UK at the moment). She's talking about packing already! So, unless she's going somewhere else we don't know about first, I'd say she's about to head this way very soon!

Paige was told by the venue staff that Hayley would take part in four or five songs, so I hope for at least two solos. Maybe 'Summer Rain'! It's a little early for near-triple-digit temperatures in the northeast,
Hopefully for the TV special, WGBH might want to interview Hayley!

Oh, but there could be 3 solos, Joe! I suppose they really will prohibit photography there, with it being filmed for TV. What do you think? So, that means we will need a full, detailed description of what she sings, and what she wears, and all that! I'm kind of hoping she either wears the purple (most definitely not green!) dress, or the newer red one by Amanda Wakely. Or the one she wore to sing My Heart Will Go On would be nice, too, but maybe not the same hairstyle. That style she does with flowers and such in her hair isnice, but it's a little on the cutesy side for me. And I don't think she should do cutesy this time. The way she had it when she first wore it in Milan was very nice, very mature, stylish, and elegant. Those earrings she wore with it were great, too. She should either have it like that, just straight down like that, or like she did during the UK tour (look at the Getty photos of her at the Gateshead). I really like it when she has her hair that way. Are you reading this, Hayley? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I'm extra picky about her appearance this time, because I want her to make the best impression possible, being in the US and on US TV! Of course her vocals are most important, but still... I must say that her hairstyle on the Memorial Day show last year was not my favorite, but the camera angle might have influenced how it looked then, too. It just wasn't the best style with that dress in particular. The way she had it for Songs of Praise or the Taiwan concerts (with that white dress), would've looked so much better.

This is both disappointing and interesting. So many reasons why it may not be a full house: lack of promotion; Mario Frangoulis too little known--and that opens up the question why he invited her, implying he was wanting her name to boost numbers; indicating she too is not as well known as we would like, unless lack of promotion again (her name not prominent as she is his guest); the event clashes with something more major locally; the Boston Pops aren't an automatic sell as I had always perceived them to be. Hello Peter and Joe! Hayley posted on Facebook that she had landed in Boston, so I shared her message on our page and added a note that seats are still available with the link: I also posted the information and the link in a comment on Hayley's page. Richard

I don't imagine that a poor audience showing at the concert would bode well for the chance of a PBS showing later on.
She would have been far ahead with just one song at the Boston Pops' big up-coming annual Fourth of July show.

But, she's already done that show, so it doesn't seem likely she'd do it again anytime soon. You guys are getting me all worried.

Hi Libby -
When you say that she has already done that, I assume that you are referring to her 2008 Washington DC "A Capitol Fourth" performance. The Boston Pops annual Fourth of July concert is a highly popular program that is widely broadcast (TV and radio) across the country, and an entirely different animal.

Oh, wait, so that is a different show than the one they show on PBS? I'm confused. I thought they showed Boston Pops on PBS... So confused.
