Hello Jillian and Libby!
That comment by Jai doesn't make sense to me, because there were official promotional releases in mid September, including a photo of Hayley at a recording desk with Jai and comments that it had already been recorded. The record company would have known the production schedule and timescales by then.
If the release date was suddenly brought forward after then, how could there have been time to record a new version instead of Hayley's, which was already in the can? So I assume that there is more to this than meets the eye but we may never know the full reasons for it unless Jai or Hayley tells us more.
Cheers, Dave

Well, that must be what they told Jai, otherwise I don't think he'd say that. Hmm, maybe I'd better ask him about that, maybe he'll respond again. Well, I guess they're not called Syco for nothing. I think maybe they are psycho. LOL

Okay, the following tweet was sent to Jai about 12 minutes ago:
"That doesn't make sense. How did the other girl manage to record it in time? You must've done it on time, too. Explain please!"

Well, he hasn't responded yet. But I'm going to keep at it till I get to the bottom of it! LOL, then he probably will hate me. But I bought his album, so he should like me a little bit. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAnyway, I just now listened to the entire album, so here's my initial review: So far, I think Believe is really good, but after the live videos I've seen, I'm a little less impressed with the recordings than I thought I would be. His voice is so much better than many of these recordings display. Especially To Where You Are, disappointingly, at least the beginning. But, Bring Me to Life sounds just about as good as it did on BGT. Fix You is wonderful. As I said before, he makes it sound really graceful. But in the live concert, his voice sounded a lot more powerful. But I like both versions. So far my favorites are: Fix You Bring Me to Life With or Without You Feels Like Home There You'll Be and One Day Like This were pretty good, too. The Prayer would have been a hundred times better if they'd used the recording with Hayley Westenra. The girl who ended up doing it is so flat and boring compared to Hayley. Even Jai doesn't impress as well as I had hoped, although from his live performances I know he could sound better. So maybe it's almost a good thing the duet didn't happen Maybe Hayley will end up doing The Prayer with someone a little better. Or, someone who will sound better on recording. But I don't entirely blame Jai for that. But I like the way he sounds better than the girl he's singing with. How You Remind Me and Boulevard of Broken Dreams are interesting. I thought Boulevard started out really good, but then as it went on, I wasn't as impressed. It was the other way around with How You Remind Me. I thought it was sort of a weak beginning, but got better as the song went on. It's great that these artists are discovered through these shows, but when they win and are controlled by Simon Cowell and friends, they are so limited that it can be a bit frustrating.

Hahaha. Very funny. It would be good if she could sing something new and different with him, rather than the usual CC duets. One that shows all those Josh nay-sayers that he really is as good as I say he is! And in turn, displays Hayley's best vocals so all the Josh fans to become "Hayley-wowed". i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThe same is required for a potential Michael Buble duet.

I got his album for Christmas and have just got round to listening to all of it... all in all I think it is a really good album- my favourite tracks being Fix You and There'll you'll be ( I think that's the name of the track) I think his voice sounds really good on these tracks in particular.... initially I wasn't too sure about With or Without You but it's growing on me... The Prayer is a good recording it's just it is really disappointing Hayley isn't on it- I was really looking forward to having an official recording of this song- hopefully one day it will happen! I think the singer was quite good on the whole though- I'm really happy the Prayer is all in English... I'm not saying i don't like it on English and Italian as I know the Italian is translated during the course of the duet- it does make a change having both sing in English I'm hoping that Hayley and Jai do work together again in future and things work out a lot better than this time! but I don't think his album is selling very well at the moment- well not as well as it could be so this could limit what he does in future... hopefully not too much- I hope he does at least one more album best wishes Sing p.s i'm also really happy I've got a signed copy!!

Yeah, I just wish the recording hadn't messed up his vocals. I'm sure it's not his fault, because he really is a very good vocalist. I wish he could be a more independent artist, though, and sing what he wants, and not be controlled by the Sychos.

I don't think his album is selling very well at the moment- well not as well as it could be so this could limit what he does in future... Well, it is the psychos that messed up. They should have left Hayley's duet alone. It stopped me from buying it for one... Martin D

Well, his fans on twitter really seem to like it. They all thought it was Hayley till he told us. They think she's good, but what do they know! The good thing that can come of this that they will know her name, if they didn't already, and possibly look up "more" of her works because they do like it. Not everyone uses twitter, so not everyone will know. However, the album does not say who it is, does not even mention the new girl. In fact, I was not very impressed with the track list inside. It is all crowded together, kind of small and hard to read. Not the best presentation.

I listened to it again, this time on my stereo; before it was on my computer. Jai's voice sounded much better on the stereo. I was a lot more impressed with some songs than I was on the computer. In particular How You Remind Me was a lot better. Oh, and I changed my mind about The Prayer. He sounded really good! Now, I almost wonder if they chose Allison because her voice is not as audible during the more dramatic parts, which means Jai really stands out. Hayley would have been more powerful than Allison. I do not think she would have drowned him out, but to me they made the duet partner extremely secondary to Jai. Her beginning lines are so unimpressive, it's so annoying. I really can't believe she has the credentials you mention. Her voice is so blah! My sister was around when I played it, and the minute it started, she made a face! She may not care for everything Hayley sings, but even she can tell that this girl has nowhere near the quality Hayley has. The contrast is very stark. Hayley is my favorite, but I know there must be lots of ladies who would sound better than this girl! Anyway, back to Jai: Still, the quality of the CD does not fully do Jai's voice justice. True, his voice has an ordinary sound to it, but a singer's voice doesn't always have to be extraordinary to be enjoyable. There's something to be appreciated about a normal-sounding voice. It sort of gives off the impression that he's a normal guy who is a good singer but doesn't really know it himself; he isn't trying to be an amazing singer, yet he still sounds really good. If that makes any sense. It's really hard to explain. It might be something only a girl can appreciate, I don't know. I think Jai's tone would be far more likely to make a woman's heart melt than a loud opera singer. LOL At least I wouldn't. He doesn't blow you away as much, but one doesn't want to be blown away every time. That can actually get to be too much after a while, even if you love the singer. I may or may not have bought his album if the Hayley duet was not announced. I never would have heard of him, actually. Then it was the Josh Groban song that first impressed me, even though his voice doesn't quite compare. I also liked Bring Me to Life, although I am not that familiar with the original. My sister is, and she wasn't impressed. Anyway, the videos on youtube are enough to keep me a fan, because it tells me he is really better than this CD displays. I hope the next CD turns out better.
