Hi everyone, Provisionally, there were 9,703 views of our Youtube channel on Sunday 23rd October - 50% higher than the previous record. This total might still increase as Youtube collate the figures. Hayley's "God Defend New Zealand" accounted for 4,300 of those views and World In Union complete (Loose Women) is also over 4,000 for the day. Our previous daily record for one song was about 1,200 and the above figures are not yet complete. Sorry to keep on about this but I now have what seems to be the final Youtube stats for Sunday (defined by US Pacific time so includes much of Monday in NZ). Total views of all our Youtube videos: 16,568, nearly triple the previous highest daily total. Top Countries in views (ignores Country population): UK 2568 NZ 1751 US 1545 Austral 1459 France 1345 Japan 835 Ireland 632 Canada 626 Germany 515 To put it in perspective, the UK has about 15 times larger population than NZ, the US has about 75 times larger population than NZ. I am also impressed to see the large number of views from France, Ireland too, and even the US and Canada are much higher than usual. Two videos obliterated our previous daily record of about 1,200 views for any one video: God Defend New Zealand - 4,365 World In Union (full) - 4,056. There was a big surge in HWI website visitors, too! It will be very interesting to see if there is a long-term improvement in the number of views that we see for Hayley, when everything has settled down. I hope so! Cheers, Dave

So happy to see such a surge in HWI video views! I hope all the other Hayley videos get lots of extra views, too! Not that it matters anymore, but after looking at the World Clock website, the RWC was actually only 10 pm PST, if it was indeed 6pm in Auckland. But still, nobody was showing at that time, either.

Hi everyone, Here's a great video taken from the stands of Eden Park while Hayley was singing the anthem. Shows the amazing atmosphere at the game. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU2fxADC880

John Key was on Radio 5 yesterday and said after the awful year NZ has endured (3 earthquakes, a mining disaster and now an oil spill), this magnificent victory was such a tonic for a nation whose people had shown such forbearance in the face of adversity and success was so well deserved. It would have been a travesty if France had won but they almost did ! Next time the World Cup will be held in England which gives the European teams four years to practice their kicking ! (I don't think Trinh-Duc will have bought a souvenir ball from the airport shop on his way home !)
Thanks for "Now is the hour", Ross. I have only four words to describe it:
AND SINGS THE ANGEL.

Look at timestamp 1:26 in the video...the bloke with the black feather boa...and the tear down his cheek. Goes to show great passion for sport in their fellow countrymen and a countrywoman in song i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Congrats boys www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhCgcZ0efAA best wishes Sing Thanks sing, that's our video! It's the closest we've ever had to a video going viral - there are some even better view figures soon to come from "day two". On Sunday/Monday, it was in the top one-third of all Youtube videos watched in NZ. Yes Joe, this was clearly a very emotional performance for everyone involved but not only that, it was of high quality, too. This could be one of the best renditions of any National Anthem ever broadcast live from a major sporting event - both in broadcast quality and for the actual performance of the singer. The two things rarely come together like this, great stuff! Cheers, Dave

I receive a mailing from Australia Post every two months, so I thought I'd see if New Zealand Post have anything on the rubgy stamps.nzpost.co.nz/new-zealand/2010/all-blacksThey have a RWC All Blacks 2011 stamp sheet, first-day covers, and coins! I reckon Hayley might be autographing some stamps next month!

On Monday (US Pacific time) our Youtube videos had 6,885 daily views from New Zealand alone (population 4 million). Before last weekend, our Youtube videos had never had more than 6,000 daily views Worldwide (population 7 billion). It's mostly due to God Defend NZ at the RWC final, of course - I suspect that the tour will go well! Dave

Hi Dave,
On 23rd October my own YouTube channel had over 1000 hits in a day for the first time ever. Six months ago I average 100-150/day. And I don't have any videos that relate to the world cup even! That's unless you count "I Vow to The My Country" which has the same tune as "The World in Union".
I think Hayley is making progress...

Thank you guys. Peter S.
