I understand that NBC will air some of the matches. Press release here. It's the first time this event will be televised on American TV.

Libby, the RWC has a great schedule. There we can see each country listed in each of the 4 pools.

The quarterfinals are matches against the winner of one pool against the runner-up of another pool.

The semifinals are against the winners of the quarterfinals.

The Bronze Match (3rd place) has the two teams that lost the semifinals

And lastly, the Cup Final will see the two teams that won the semifinals. The loser of the final get 2nd place, and the winner will be champion.

She is the world’s biggest selling soprano and she is a New Zealander, but Hayley Westenra will be the voice of ITV’s World Cup coverage in the UK.

But what does that say about who she will be supporting?

In one of many publicity shots promoting her as the official voice of the UK broadcaster for the Rugby World Cup, Westenra is seen poised on top of a scrum.

Westenra’s mother Jill says she is thrilled.

“It’s really exciting,” she says. “I’m really happy for her ‘cause she’s worked hard. So it’s nice that people recognise that she’s got something to offer.”

Westenra will be singing her version of the official song of the World Cup, ‘World In Union’ for ITV and it will be released as a single.

This won’t be the first time for Westenra, who performed part of the song alongside other artists for ITV four years ago.

Another famous New Zealand soprano, Kiri Te Kanawa, sang it in 1991.

The official song of the World Cup is not to be confused with the Feelers’ ‘Right Here, Right Now’, used only to promote ticket sales.

But what does Westenra’s mum think of her posing, bare-legged, on top of a scrum?

“I was really proud of her for a start,” she says. “I just knew she had fun with that photo shoot.”

But it doesn’t mean Westenra will be supporting England in the World Cup.

“She’s definitely going to support the All Blacks,” says Jill Westenra.

Her father says it is a pity she couldn’t have posed on top of the All Blacks, whose captain Richie McCaw – a fellow Cantabrian – knows Westenra well.

“It’s quite a cool song so I suppose it doesn’t really matter,” McCaw says. “It’s nice she’s been asked.”

Westenra’s mother says she hopes her daughter will be singing in New Zealand for the World Cup final.

“I think she’s kept her schedule clear, I want her to come home,” she says.

World Cup officials have yet to announce who will be singing what for the World Cup and weren’t giving anything away today.

There was never any good reason for the first few NZ articles to think Hayley had changed her allegiance anyway, some reporters either haven't got a clue, or just enjoy mischief-making for the sake of it.

But finally, one of them thought "oh, let's ask" and discovered the truth, but it was obvious all along!
