Hey Joe, (actually that's a song) That could be dangerous. Are you sure you wil be able to concentrate on your driving? Take care. Martin D Hi Martin D! Actually I drive very little! I am the map-reader and music provider! My first listen to the CD was absolutely amazing! But I've just put the album on my i-Tunes and onto my i-Touch. After adjusting some CD titles and adding the artwork...I'm all set! My best wishes, Joe

Hi Joe,
Yes, as you may have guessed I'm blown away by it too. I keep pestering Hayley on twitter and raving about it, she must be getting fed up with me by now. But I love it so much that I can't help myself.

Still no Paradiso for me... OK, I know I don't deserve it. What I deserve is Inferno, perhaps Purgatorio, but definitely not Paradiso. But how did the guys at Marbecks know this? Tom

Thanks for the charts info guys, I'll post the top ten in the Official Charts thread. Looks like Hayley will have a "climber" on her hands! Marbecks website chart usually seems to have a good handle on what's going to happen in next week's chart as it's had Paradiso at no. 4 for the last 7 days. But now they've (today) pushed it up to no. 1, it's reasonable to assume that they expect Paradiso to make no. 1 in next week's official RIANZ chart. The main sales push was always planned to start at the end of this month, ahead of Mother's Day (May 8th) and to coincide with Hayley's promo visit. Cheers, Dave

You only get ONE CHANCE to listen to an album for the FIRST time, ONE CHANCE. I have a copy of Paradiso in my hand, I want to hear it undisturbed and in good quality in one go. I have avoided all the samples available, I don't want to hear it on tacky laptop speakers or even on my better PC speakers. This first listening is to be special and it deserves all the ritual necessary to make it special. We have been speculating on and discussing this album since December 2009, with a confirmation from Hayley in March 2010 that preparations were underway. A confirmation on the 14th May 2010 that it would be an International Hayley album with Ennio Morricone. In my book, two superstars of music. This deserves all the respect it can get..
I clear my afternoon of work, I won't be answering the phone, I close the windows to reduce traffic noise, I am fed so I won't get peckish halfway through. I prefer absolute darkness, but that can't be arranged in the middle of a beautiful spring afternoon. This is to be an audio only experience. I have the room to myself and the door is closed, I know I will not be disturbed. No scented candles or the likes, Nothing to see. Nothing to taste, no choccys or sweets. Nothing to touch or fiddle with (Phones etc.) I Have the CD ready to play, Nice 70 watt per Channel YAMAHA amp already warmed up with old Morricone since this morning. Paradiso in slot one on my Technics 5 disc player. Speakers older than Hayley and well run in on Morricone, they know him so well. You must be comfortable, no thought of body, mind and ears only. I intend to listen with my eyes closed, I am cosy and comfortable, I press PLAY and put the remote down, A few seconds in and I suspect I have left The Mission in the player, a few seconds more and I know I have not. I don't open my eyes. Hayley's voice comes in in the first few seconds of a tune I am familiar with, as familiar with as my own children. I have had Morricone's music in my life even longer, right back to pre teens, always there, always a source of pleasure, Morricone loves sounds, he knows how to take pleasure in them, He knows how to give pleasure with them, a single instrument, a single note, a long stroke of a bow on a string, drawn out until it fades away. Morricone is a magician and a master of music, there are few who are his equal and even fewer who are better.
I don't open my eyes until the whole cd has played, I hardly move, I just listen, I am not disturbed by anything else.
It was worth the wait, every minute, hour, day, week, month, year..
It was worth the wait..

Hi everyone, Paul you summed it up so well I won't add anything 'cos you did it for me well done. If I may quote:-
We have here truly a MASTERPIECE,no doubt about it and I wouldn't be surprised if it goes double platinum it is sitting pretty good on the sales charts after only it's first week.
I won't mention the tracks until everyone else has received theirs but hang in there guys and gals, the above quote from Paul says it all.
Cheers enjoy I am sure you will,
Rodders

Hi, I think there are some Germans around here. Did anyone from Germany already receive a copy from Marbecks? My CC was charged on 15 April, but the CD did not yet arrive. Maybe, customs is enjoying it right now... Thanks and regards, Michael

It was worth the wait. Unexpected surprise for me too this morning. Here's wishing you 'whispers in your dreams' .... while I relax and listen as magic unfolds ...... Whispers in a Dream ... of a live performance ... in Rome ... Paddy

HOORRAYYYY!!
I don't suppose you can guess what I just got in the mail today?
It appears part of the delay had something to do with a lack of zip code. Weird. I don't remember not being asked for a zip code, but I wouldn't have skipped it if they had asked me. I'm in such a habit of typing out my address on order forms that I can't imagine that I'd leave this out, even accidentally. Most order forms don't let you finish unless you do put it in. Does NZ not use zip codes or something?
And yes, it appears my CD was peered at by customs, as the small cardboard box it was in wasn't tightly closed.
The CD and case are fine, though. Well, actually, a few pieces are broken from the jewel thing in the center of the CD spot. My other NZ CDs (HW & MGTY) both suffered the same fate.
Okay, I'm going to go listen now, having recently been fed, and no risk of getting "peckish". :2fun:

Hi everyone
My copy arrived in perfect condition this morning (I ordered it on the 18th from Marbecks). It would be interesting to know how many people have ordered it outside New Zealand? I feel quite privileged to probably be one of a few people in the UK with a copy. I will definitely be staying in this evening - any advice about which tracks to listen to first would be gratefully received!
