not exactly relevant to the thread but.. do we know about this one.. www.northwalesweeklynews.co.uk/conwy-county-news/local-conwy-news/2011/03/03/hayley-westenra-will-be-performing-alongside-cor-meibion-maelgwn-in-september-55243-28266415/SINGING sensation Hayley Westenra will perform alongside Cor Meibion Maelgwn in September. The choir’s annual concert at Venue Cymru will take place on September 26 September 24. Also joining Hayley will be Elgan Thomas from Llandudno, winner of the 2010 Bryn Terfel Scholarship. “We are trying our best to encourage young talent”, said choir secretary Emyr Williams. The choir held its St David’s Day concert at a packed St John’s Church in Llandudno last Saturday. Alongside the choir, the soloists were Elin Mai and Rhys Meilyr and the winner of a competition for local schools held the previous evening, Ieuan Jones of Ysgol y Creuddyn. Well, we know about it now, we just don't know whether it's been confirmed by Bandana yet.

Hello everyone, Hayley's participation in this concert is now confirmed by Hayley's management. I have started this new thread by moving two existing posts that were originally in another thread. However, we can't add it to the schedules yet as the original media report states September 26, which is a Monday. But the choir's own website says "Sunday September 24th" but September 24th is a Saturday this year. I will seek clarification! Dave EDIT Bandana think the choir's website is wrong as the contract says 26th, and will let the choir know. So I'm sticking with that date and will add it to the events schedules.

We will seek confirmation of the date. Richard The Choir's website still says Sunday September 24th 2011 (which does not exist, the 24th is a Saturday) and when I pointed this out to Hayley's management they said they would contact them to point out that the contract says 26th September, as per the original newspaper article. I will mention to them that we now have another discrepancy! Dave

Hi Dave & Richard Just to confuse matters I have called the box office to point out the website booking problem. They also think it is on 24th Sept. One good point of news is that there are PLENTY of tickets available but if you want some then call the box office. However, don't be put off by the voicemail message in Welsh! If you persevere then an English version will eventually be offered! Martin

To me a Saturday makes more sense for a concert than a Monday...

Hello everyone I have just booked my first Hayley concert for 2011 and am sitting in the same seat as last time - A16 - front row centre i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAnyone booking who has booked before will be asked for their account number - this can be found in the bottom right hand corner of your ticket.I mentioned the problem with on line booking and the confusion over dates but the venue is confident that the correct date is Saturday 24th September - tickets are already printed for this date and, as Libby suggests, a Saturday is more likely than a Monday for the choirs main annual event. Oh and you only get the message in Welsh if the box office is closed. When open you get "good morning" in both Welsh and English. See some of you in Llandudno in September! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

HI grant
I hope you have a good time. I really enjoyed that area when I was there a couple of years ago.

Thanks for sharing. I find it funny that they refer to the choir as an "it". A choir is a "they", normally.
