Thankyou for your concern
I am a live and well and have no injuries
There is still no power or water where i was living and there was also a gas leak
I am now living with friends,
My grand daughter is with her other nana at ashburton
It is very uncertain times right now, not sure how it all will end
My doctor was on the fourth floor of the CTV Building
presumed dead.

It just so happens that Christchurch is one of Seattle's sister cities, though. I like that.

Someone posted this blog on the official forum. He said he posted a video of Hayley's Hine e Hine as a tribute to the people of Christchurch after the quake. His wife's boss, a "big-time" TV producer (in his words), heard it and was amazed and touched by it. He had just spent some time in Queenstown not long before.

Singer Hayley Westenra plans to return to her devastated hometown as soon as possible to hold a free concert for Cantabrians.

The singer had arrived in London from Christchurch only hours before the February 22 earthquake struck and was unable to contact friends and family for some time.

Her family were not harmed in the quake, but her father's central city office building was destroyed.

"As a Christchurch girl I am still in shock about what has happened to my beautiful home town. My heart breaks just thinking about those who have lost their lives and the families and friends that are now suffering," she said.

Westenra sang at a packed-out service at London's Westminster Cathedral on Wednesday (UK time) to pay tribute to Christchurch's quake victims.

The starlet had planned to embark on a national tour of New Zealand later this year, but after the earthquake decided to put on a fundraising show in Auckland instead.

A free show will also be staged for Cantabrians as soon as a suitable venue becomes available.

"I may be a long way from home, but I still maintain the strongest bond imaginable with my home town and people. Putting on these concerts is the best way I know to help - it's my way of giving back to the city that means so much to me," she said.

Westenra's manager, Brian Lane, arrived in New Zealand on Thursday to begin arrangements for both shows and is planning a worldwide charity single with Universal Music.

Details are yet to be confirmed, but all proceeds from the single and Auckland fundraising concert will go directly to Christchurch's earthquake relief effort, he said.
