Hi everybody. There are two new songs from Christmas concert of 'a capella' group Fragile and Guests in Bratislava here. Patricia was the only guest in the 1st part of the concert from 15.12.2011. . Patricia Janeèková - Panis angelicus (Fragile And Guests) www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Urxu1BNaQk. Patricia Janeckova - Tichá noc / Silent Night www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj6dWp1Q9Pw. Thanks, krupicka! I'm glad I could visit the concert, record and upload Patrica's songs! The Silent Night has a funny part where probably the drummer received phone call and he hasn't phone sounds turned off. It caused that the singer didn't start at the point he had to start. But they recovered from that and successfully finished the song. The audience was very positively tuned, so people had fun from that troubles.

By any chance, do we know of any concert with Patricia in Praha or anywhere close between the 29th of January and the third of February? It would be such a big coincidence, I know the chances are very small, but esnted to ask, just in case.

Hello, I found one new youtube video and I translated interesting part of one interview. The video is from the summer Viva Musica Festival concert, it's recording of Christmas Slovak Television broadcast. It is the Pa Pa Pa duet of Papageno and Papagena from Mozart's The Magic Flute. It appears also on the debut album DVD. www.youtube.com/v/71iYF2Hl69wThe interview with Patricia and related guests was broadcast on Saturday January 21 on Czech Radio Ostrava. The most interesting part is about voice maturation from Patricia's vocal teacher Eva Dzizgova. Here you can find my English translation: patriciajaneckova.weebly.com/interview-for-czech-radio-ostrava.html

Today Patricia sang on a student miss competition Miss Reneta in Havirov near Ostrava in Czech Republic, where she is living. She sang All I Ask Of You from Phantom Of The Opera and O mio babbino caro. I recorded them from the live internet stream. The audio quality is poor, but I hope it is still interesting for you to see and hear Patricia singing. Especially when it is so rare. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLKz5dKARZEwww.youtube.com/watch?v=dGhTC1O_N20

Err..
Not convinced by one upon a time. Straight ripoff of Hayley, and Hayley does it better.
Dancing Queen.. ABBA did it better.
Miserere - not bad
But I have to say she has a great voice. Just needs some original material.
Ripping off Hayley and ABBA doesn't work. Perhaps she should perform something from her own country's heritiage. It worked for Hayley.

I wouldn't say she's ripped off Hayley Many Classical-crossover artists have done this song. Hayley didn't write the song, either. Even though I love Hayley's, My favorite version of "Once Upon A Time In The West" is actually Carla Maffioletti (with Andre Reiu) www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YwsnB1C_5gI actually prefer Patricia's version of "Dancing Queen". I always think it a good idea for any artist to get original material so I agree with you there.

martindn, regarding Once Upon A Time In The West and "Straight ripoff of Hayley": Patricia sang it 1st time publicly on Czech and Slovak Talentmania on 7 November 2010. talentmania.markiza.sk/clanek/novinky/2-finale-patricia-janeckova-vs-tomas-ringel.htmlI'm not sure if she knew anything about Hayley that time, most probably nothing, as there is no classical-crossover tradition in our region. She named Anna Netrebko or Edita Gruber as her idols that time. Parariso was released in April 2011. The arrangement Patricia and Hayley use is different. Regarding original material or material from our region, I agree with you. She has to be more original, not only to bring other arangement or another version of well-known songs. Interesting is all about her genre. As I wrote above there is no classical crossover tradition in Slovakia/Czech Republic. People think that Patricia is "opera singer" and don't understand the difference against CC. I know all publicly released interviews and I can say Patricia did not understand it in 2010 too. But as people around Patricia understand more the reality and her possibilities in her age, there is some movement in the CC direction. There is only one sentence about her next album in one press release from May 2012: "Patricia would like to release another CD yet before her studies on conservatory. Dramaturgy of the CD is almost prepared, it is really very interesting and has strong potential to appeal to wide audience worldwide." 'yet before her studies on conservatory' means till September 2013. But on other side, she is visiting training lessons (but it's very light 'training', reflecting her age) of true opera singer Eva Dzizgova and she performs in childs opera performance The Little Chimney Sweep by Benjamin Britten. It seems that she and her parents more trust her true opera related future and such performances like the videos above and plans for her next album are maybe only a childs excursion into different waters during early operatic training. We will see later. In the case of bigger success with her new album - who knows.

Thanks for that Bogi!
Personally I would prefer to see her as a CC singer rather than pure Opera. But obviously it is a question of what Patricia herself would prefer to do.
I'm sure whatever that is she will have a great future and I wish her well.
