Hey guys. Two queries. (1) I was just wondering if this current album process is taking an usually long time? Only asking because I have also begun following Camilla Kerslake. It seems like she began producing her album around the same time and already has the release date and the promotion getting started with a showcase next week. ...Or I'm probably just getting impatient after a particularly rough work week! But I need both CK and HW new music! LOL (2) Did all those Japanese songs from her Japanese albums already have English translations or did they have to translate them themselves/create their own lyrics when she was recording it? (1) Yes it is taking a long time. But I think this means we are going to get a top quality album as opposed to most albums done now days. (2) Hayley did the translation with help from a Japanese lady I think. |

Suzi Kim is the lady who helped her. But the 2nd one, Hayley did a lot of the writing -- of course, based on the original lyrics, I'm sure.
Yes, it seems like it's taking forever, doesn't it? I think the album's probably mostly ready, but the change in management may have caused some delay. Other people's albums took (or have taken) a long time, too. It seemed like we waited 2 years for Josh Groban's latest album to finally come out. Another artist, Kelly Sweet, has been taking ages, too (I'm not sure I'll like her next album, though). A lot of it seems to be that those artists wrote nearly all the material on the album (although Josh switched producers, too).
Hayley said she wrote some for this album, but Ennio Morricone did, too. But who knows if that was just the music, and not lyrics. Hayley could've written lyrics to the music he wrote. I bet that's what she did, if the whole album is Ennio Morricone music.

Hey guys. Two queries. Are you still there, mlb? It has been more than a month but let me try. I only can write you some but HSJS1 was mostly translated by a musician named Suzi Kim who was graduated from the Music Course of the Yale University in USA. You can find her home page at here. I assumed that the lyrics were already translated before Hayley was deeply involved. Although the page is written mostly in Japanese but it clearly says,"訳詞 >> ・「HAYLEY SINGS JAPANESE SONGS」Hayley Westenra [UNIVERSAL]" "訳詞" means "The translation of the lyrics", I must add. Regarding HSJS2, nothing is written about the translator. What is written on each song is "English Lyric: Hayley Westenra" except the track 5 "LOVE LOVE LOVE" and the track 11 "Memunoki no Komoriuta". As Martin D is writing at the thread "The Original HSJS2" here, some songs are close to the original and some are a bit different. As a Japanese, I can easily assume that someone has translated the original songs and Hayley wrote the lyrics with his or her aid. I have tried to find out who was that but nothing was found so far. It must be done by someone who works for the company Universal, I assume. HSJS2 had different process to complete compared with HSJS1, I too assume. Hope this helps. Maya |

Dave, I know you said you'd tell us if you found out anything about this, but... The Japan "Beauty from Within" tour for June 2011: I can't find it on that Samon Promotions site anymore. And nothing more has been said about it. Is this even still a possibility, is it cancelled, or what? I mean, the Japanese site had it listed around the end of last year. The only reason I'm wondering about it now is that June comes after May... and May is when she was originally planning to go back to New Zealand... and New Zealand is right near Japan... But of course, Hayley and her management have apparently not said a word about it. So, maybe it's been postponed.  |

The only reason I'm wondering about it now is that June comes after May... and May is when she was originally planning to go back to New Zealand... and New Zealand is right near Japan... But of course, Hayley and her management have apparently not said a word about it. So, maybe it's been postponed. Hi Libby, No, I have nothing to report on that. Bandana did advise me that there would shortly be one or two events to report but that was just before the Earthquake and of course, that could have changed everything. So I have deliberately delayed "chasing" them for a few weeks in the hope that by then (sometime this month), they will have a clearer idea of what's happening. Dave |

Hayley's management tell me that this tour was being planned for June 4th - 11th at one time but that it will not now be taking place this year. However, it may still take place some time in 2012. HI everyone I'm not sure where to post this as I think I already know the answer...but Hayley's middle name is definitely just Dee isn't it? I ask because, whilst doing (yet another) project for French I became really lazy and looked up Hayley Westenra on the French version of Wikipedia because I was feeling too tired and lazy to bother translating my notes on Hayley into French myself...(for a project on my most favourite famous person) and it definitely says Hayley Anna Dee Westenra!! I'm not sure if this can be changed, it's not really a big deal but it has really stuck in my brain for some bizarre reason- i'd better push it out before my exam next week!! I'm rambling now I think..better get some sleep now or perhaps not- it's my last day of school/college tomorrow and we're all dressing up like zombies- i dont think i'll need to bother with the make-up-without sleep i'll look like one anyway  best wishes Sing |

Hi Sing The added "Anna" is a mistake on the French Wikipedia website. Hayley's initial entry in the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) also had it but was corrected last year. As a result other websites copied this mistake. So, yeah, it's just Hayley Dee Westenra i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGood luck with the zombie costume...are the entire student body dressing up or just the school leavers?
