Josh Groban may perform in big arenas, but it doesn't stop him from connecting with the audience... or the audience with him... literally, too! At the last concert I went to, they allowed a whole bunch of fans to crowd around right by the stage enough so that I could no longer see him, even though I was in the front row! ) He even ran and touched all their hands. I certainly don't expect, or want, Hayley to do any such thing, but it does show that a huge arena does not prevent an artist from connecting with their audience. Hayley may enjoy small audiences as you say, but I don't think she would be entirely against singing for larger audiences. She certainly has before, even if she wasn't the main act.

Josh Groban may perform in big arenas, but it doesn't stop him from connecting with the audience... Yes indeed Libby, Michael Buble is like that too (who UK audiences are more familiar with). Hayley may enjoy small audiences as you say, but I don't think she would be entirely against singing for larger audiences. She certainly has before, even if she wasn't the main act. Or even if she is the main act (15,000 in Kaohsiung Arena, late last year!) But interesting though this discussion is, we are drifting off topic for the thread, there are I am sure some more suitable threads covering this, in recent months. Cheers, Dave

What is the topic exactly again? About Hayley experts, right? We could just say I'm the expert on promoting Hayley in the U.S., and call it good. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifYes, how could I have forgotten the Taiwan shows! I have just one more (long) point regarding Hayley and arenas: In order for Hayley to be able to tour in the U.S. more often, she does not have to be a huge superstar, selling out arenas or being followed by the media. Look at Orla Fallon. She's about to do a tour all across the U.S., all by herself. She won't be in any arenas, mostly just theaters and smaller venues like that. But she is touring here! CW as a group is the superstar, not the individual singers. However, each member is well-loved by many fans, including Hayley. So, if Orla could tour, couldn't Hayley, as well? True, Hayley was only on one CW album and one tour, but still... Especially with her new album coming out, it's not impossible. Although Josh Groban is a huge star in his genre over here, there are still plenty of people who have never heard of him. When people ask me what music I like, and I mention Josh, they don't know who he is. So since Hayley's genre is quite similar to his, I really don't think there's any danger of her becoming a huge star, followed by papparazzi all the time. Even Josh doesn't often encounter them. I think her rise to stardom will be gradual. If she could only be as famous as Sarah Brightman or Andrea Bocelli, that would be good enough. They do sell out bigger venues, but I hardly ever see them on tour here, and the media never mentions them unless they're on some show. Okay, Dave, I'm all done. But I will get Hayley over here, you just watch! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I'm sure you will Libby. She has a lot of US fans who deserve the chance to see her live. I'm sure Hayley and her management know that. Martin D

Question: When is the "Funny Caption Contest 3" going to be put to our vote?

When Jillian has time, I'm sure she will. Now doesn't seem to be the best time to pressure her for it. I'd do it, but it seems a bit more complicated than a shoe poll. :rollin
I'm the fashion poll person. I'll let someone else do the caption contest.

I have a question, too: Does anyone know if the "Beauty Within" tour in Japan has been confirmed yet? It was mentioned in the 2011 album thread, but no concert thread has been created for it yet. Since Samon lists it on their site, I'm assuming it's still going to happen, but I'm interested to know if it's confirmed or not. The dates shown on Samon Promotions site are June 4th-11th. Tickets have still not gone on sale yet. www.samonpromotion.com/live/So, Jono, those concerts you predicted would be sometime after that.

Question: When is the "Funny Caption Contest 3" going to be put to our vote? Hello Steve! Jillian hasn't forgotten the competition, but at the moment she's fully occupied cleaning her house following the floods in Queensland. She'll start the voting when she has the time. Richard

Hi Libby, Nothing for 2011 is confirmed yet (by Bandana), although it is of course quite possible that one or more of the events located on the Internet by members will happen. But I think members would at this stage be unwise to make detailed plans based on that. I think things must be pretty hectic over at Bandana these days, with Hayley's new album and the need to integrate its release and promotion with concerts and other events - and all starting from scratch not long ago (with the Christmas shut-down in between). As soon as there are signs that things are starting to move, I'll make further enquiries and post anything I find out but for the moment, I'm just leaving them to get on with it. Like everyone else, I'm having to learn to be patient! Cheers, Dave

I looked up the individual venues in Japan, to see if they list it, but none of them do. The one in Osaka doesn't even show anything past January, though, so you can't tell by that. Only one of them listed anything in June, in fact. I imagine it's still a little early anyway.
And since tickets aren't even available yet, there's not much chance anyone will make plans for these yet.

I haven't been to a Hayley gig in over six years. My question for the experts is:
What kind of ovations at the end of her concerts does she receive nowadays? Sitting? Standing? In between? Are there any rapturous shouts of "Brava!" or "Bravissima!"?

Hi Steve
It varies depending on location, but standing ovations are not unusual. Her Christmas shows last year mostly sold out and were very well received by the audences - not suprprising really since she really did do a superb show. She does get a bit of whistling and shouts of "more" in some places. But it think that depends more on how reseved the audiences are in particular locations.

Hey guys. Two queries.
(1) I was just wondering if this current album process is taking an usually long time? Only asking because I have also begun following Camilla Kerslake. It seems like she began producing her album around the same time and already has the release date and the promotion getting started with a showcase next week.
...Or I'm probably just getting impatient after a particularly rough work week! But I need both CK and HW new music! LOL
(2) Did all those Japanese songs from her Japanese albums already have English translations or did they have to translate them themselves/create their own lyrics when she was recording it?
