Well, it certainly wouldn't hurt, but she's a bit busy at the moment. Maybe when things slow down a bit. And don't forget Rhydian Roberts' show. I wonder how popular that will be, anyway? I'm still not clear on whether this is a reality show, or a talk show, or what?

Acting doesn't always help with a singing career, anyway. Look at Jennifer Love Hewitt. Everyone knows she's an actress, but how many people know she has four albums out and actually has a very good singing voice? Almost no-one, right?
It'd be another string to Hayley's bow, sure, but I can see why it isn't a priority for her. More hoping for a guest spot on Doctor Who, though. That would do more for her worldwide than pretty much any film...

Oh and by the way, I agree your point, I hadn't heard of her as a singer but then, I hadn't actually heard of her...! Peter S.

Well, I guess one person's famous actress is another person's "Jennifer who?"

I'm more interested in her singing for a blockbuster movie at the moment... one coming out December 14, 2012, in particular. And then Dec. 2013, too. Either, or. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Personally I have very little interest in movies or TV, or indeeed any of the visual arts.
I have been to see movies before now simply to hear the music, with no interest in the actual film!!! And of course watched whole series of TV shows, just becuse Hayley was on the soundtrack, without taking much notice of the actual plot - if you had asked me what it was about afterwards I would have struggled to tell you. I wouldn't have bothered if it hadn't been for the music.
Music and poetry are my favourite art forms, and this is where Hayley excels (well, I suppose lyric writing is a form of poetry). I don't really need or want her do do anything else that might distract her from making music, but everbody to their own.

I like that idea, too, I must admit! The thought of Hayley singing in Quenya is rather awesome...

Yesss!!! Actually, I think the language of Mirkwood is different, but same difference as far as we're concerned, right? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif English would be fine, too. I'm hoping for background vocals as well as a theme song or 2. Enya did 2 songs, on one soundtrack, in fact, and then Renee Fleming did background vocals on 2 separate CDs, and more than one song on each! I'm hoping Hayley gets a little something on both Hobbit soundtracks.

Yeah, the wood elves speak Sindarin, IIRC. Quenya is the high elves. Can't remember dwarven, now. Sooo long since I read The Silmarillion...

Yeah, there'll be dwarven in the movie. There are scenes in Rivendell too, so there could be some Quenya, in the music, as well.
Actually, one of the songs Enya did for the Fellowship of the Ring is in Sindarin. Aniron, the theme for Arwen & Aragorn. It is soooo beautiful! And I bet Hayley got to sing it when she performed for Howard Shore with the Dallas symphony!

Long as they don't make her sing in the Black Speech of Mordor! Not sure even Hayley could make that sound pretty!

There's no Mordor in The Hobbit story, and I don't think there's supposed to be anything like that in the movie either. Nobody sang it in LOTR, either. Just spoke it, and those were foul folk, not nice elves or innocent little hobbits.

And Gandalf, once or twice! You're right there's no Mordor in The Hobbit - or shouldn't be! - but there are goblins and things, so you never know, I guess. Loads more dwarves, which should be cool

Maybe Hayley will get to talk to Peter Jackson while she's in Nelson on her tour... a huge crew is scheduled to be filming over there in November and December! Or maybe she'll encounter Orlando Bloom.

"Grobanites", "Little Monsters", "Beatlemaniacs", "Deadheads", "Divettes"..... all pet names for dedicated fans of musical artists. What is the best nickname for fans of Hayley Westenra? "Hayleyites" sounds too harsh. "Westenrascals" is too silly. Has anyone already come up with a suitable pet name for Hayley followers?
