I don't think she will or should do Caruso. It's too fast, and wouldn't show off her voice very well, except for the chorus. That's the problem with that song. That's the one song by Josh Groban I don't like, because he sounds great in the middle part, but the fast parts sound like blithering. Andrea Bocelli's sounds a lot smoother. I noticed you included a few of our suggestions from the other thread. I'm also hoping for My Lagan Love sometime. lol I really like Josh Groban's version of Caruso... I think it's quite smouldering and sexy to be honest! I think Katherine Jenkins also did a version of Caruso. Were some of my suggestions in the other thread? I actually compiled that list on my own, so perhaps great minds think alike. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Yeah, some of your suggestions were made by others in the "Songs you'd like her to do sometime". Mine was Nocturne by Secret Garden, but I'm not so sure, now that I realize it's more instrumental than vocal. It's such a lovely tune, though. And of course many people have requested Vivo Per Lei, and most recently, I Know You By Heart. I suggested it on Twitter, and 2 or 3 other people re-tweeted it, and Hayley saw them, because she responded. I can't remember her exact words. She wouldn't do All I Ask of You because it was already on her first album, Hayley Westenra. And she already recorded Walking in the Air twice, once on the Walking in the Air CD, and also on Hayley Westenra. Sally Gardens is a nice one. I like the version by Orla from Celtic Woman. I seem to remember seeing someone suggest Wild Mountain Thyme before too; we were discussing songs by Judy Collins that Hayley could sing. I really want her to sing a couple hymns too, like Be Thou My Vision or It Is Well with My Soul.

Hello Libby! 'How Great Thou Art' is another hymn that would suit Hayley's voice rather well. Richard

Hi Libby, Did you hear the new version of Secret Gardens, Nocturne on their latest Album, Inside i'm singing.(with special guests) It is a complete vocal version, with special guest Anne Takle, and IMO, this song would be beautiful when Hayley will sing it. So there is hope, and i'm sure that Hayley knows this version, because she got this album, as a present from one of our HWI members. BTW, you can find the version with lyrics on You Tube..... Look for Secret Garden with Anne Takle............... Greetz JOYCE

Oh, thanks, Joyce! I'll check that out! That was nice of the HWI members to give that to her, since she likes that group. I'd love to hear that! Richard, I agree about that hymn. Carrie Underwood also has a very heartfelt version of that song that I enjoy, but Hayley's voice is prettier.

One last thing: I don't often read horoscopes, nor really believe in them, but every once in a while I take a peek. The one in the Seattle Times today for Aries (Hayley's "sign") said "You're creating a product that others will appreciate for its simplicity and charm." That does sound an awful lot like what Hayley could be doing. Me neither Libby, I have a deep suspicion and healthy scepticism about these things, but now you've got me reading Hayley's newspaper horoscopes, and I read a similar one today for Aries. This from astrologer Jonathan Cainer in today's Daily Mail: "The finest things in the world are often well kept secrets" and "You may not be a superstar (she is) but you are doing something good that deserves to go down in history. Those who know you are lucky". I hope that astrologer is right! And yes, I consider myself lucky to know her. I hope that doesn't mean that yet again she will make an awesome album that will not be promoted properly. I don't think I could stand it if that happened again. I'm tempted to tweet her with that. In fact I think I will! Martin D

Even if this album does well, and boosts her popularity more, I still don't think she'll get to "superstar" status that fast. I think, if it happens at all, it'll happen a little more gradually.
Funny, but they're rarely if ever close about "my" horoscopes. Occasionally it comes halfway close. I don't see how one horoscope could be true for everyone within each sign's time frame.
I don't believe astrology comes from a good source at all, but anything to do with Hayley is always good. And it can't be just a coincidence that they came up with those things about Hayley.

Hi Libby,
Yes, like you I an hugely sceptical about horoscopes and their sources. They are dangerous because they could be used to lead people along the wrong path for them, if they take them too seriously. We do not know that their originators are always benevolent, so we can't trust them.
So I don't usually read them, but I just happened to spot this one, and it seemed so right for Hayley.
The huge expression of love that I have seen for Hayley on her birthday is a testament to how good is the thing that Hayley is doing. I know she can and does change people's lives. She helps to turn us all into better people. And they universally love her for it. I wonder if she really knows and understands that. Or the power that that gives her to help make the world a better place.

Hi, Joyce. I finally got around to listening to that version of Nocturne on youtube. I didn't think her voice was as nice as the ones in the live performances of the old version. She was too quiet, and her voice wasn't that impressive to me. The video I saw had some awfully dark-looking photos, which almost made it depressing. I still like the song, though.

I think she did, originally intended for River of Dreams, because at one point, we saw it on a tracklist prior to the release. For some reason it didn't make it, though. I can't say that I miss it that much. I wouldn't have wanted one of the other ones, like Songbird, to be left out for that song. I don't know if they would save the recording in case she wanted to use it for another album, or if she would have to redo it, or what. Maybe it didn't turn out right. That was apparently what happened with Love Came Down at Christmas for Winter Magic.

Well, she did say music. Maybe that's what she meant.

Hi Libby,
I'm sure she did mean that. But what does this mean "a whole album". Is this the same album we are eagerly anticipating? The one she has been working in since February? Or something else? Is she discarding all her own work? Perhaps she didn't think it was good enough. I have a high regard for Hayley's songwriting, and much as I love Signore Morricone's work, I would hope she hasn't thrown too much away through lack of confidence in her own songwriting ability.
It could be something else of course. A film perhaps, but I'm not convinced. Whatever it is, it sounds like the album is up in the air again.
