LOL, Martin, I wasn't talking about laerning how to sing in harmony with someone else, I agree she is just awesome in that (original Celtic Woman was really a unique ensamble in this aspect)... Hayley's perfect pitch helps a lot in this too.
But, I wasn't talking about singing or performing classes, she is good enough in that. When I was talking about harmony as a subject, I was thinking of the theory, how to make a good harmonization of a song: what chords to use, how to mix different voices and instruments in a piece of music so they sound fine together, and a big etc. It is more about composing and arranging songs than about performing. I am sure Hayley already has a wider knowledge in this than most of us, she's been into music for many years, and I think she is that kind of people who like to understand what she is doing. But this subject is so wide and complex that I think to get a little more deeply into it, may help her as a songwriter, also being more independent when writing a songs (why do you think the songs have always appeared as co-written?).

Michal I agree, but in my opinion knowing all there is to know about harmony, and being able to write a good song are quite different. Some of the best songs ever have been written by artists who probably don't have as much harmony theory knowledge as Hayley does. Although knowing your way around harmony theory obviously helps in writing a song, song-writing should come from the heart, and you don't need a huge amount of harmony to achieve that. I think that Hayley has quite a thorough understanding of how to construct a song. Even though she didn't compose the song 'River', her piano arrangement is brilliant! I am sure that she has also received any help (if any!) from those she spends a lot of time with. I'm talking about Tim Evans, Andy Moore, etc whom she has been with for her Winter Magic tour, and she probably would have learnt a few things from them if she needed it. Cheers, Ben

Martin, I agree about Beyond the Sea. I never cared about it that much before, but I really enjoy CW's version, particularly because of Hayley. Hayley wrote All With You, and I think the piano is good in that song, too. I don't know much about piano, though. In the book, The World at Her Feet, it says she was writing songs about her toys when she was 6 years old!

In the Twitter thread,[/b] Latest tweet from Hayley: Seems to be much discussion and planning going on now. Do you ever get the feeling that this is going to be a monumental, groundbreaking album? Martin Hi Martin, Time to resurrect the 2010 album thread, methinks! In answer to your question, yes, and I think it will pleasantly surprise quite a few people. How much sales success it gets depends on how much money Decca are willing to plough into its production and promotion. Hopefully, a lot more than the last couple of albums (and I think they will undoubtedly do so). Cheers, Dave

Hi,
We all know now, that Hayley is working on a new album. The only question now is, when will it be released.
Reading the threads, and tweets, and digging in my mind, about things from the past...........................................
_ Hayley can record a new album in less than a week ( i remember one of her japanese albums was recorded in 3 days.) _ From the moment, that was announced a new album will be released in 2010, i guess everyone working on this album, started to collect /write songs, so a lot of work should be finished. _where did i read about a possible photoshoot, a couple of weeks ago ?? _looking at the concertschedule......no concerts so far..... _The first date announced for Buxton (5th of june) is now for 22 of august..... - Hayley tweeted about starting recording whitin a month..... -Is it good to release a new album during the summerholidays (July and August?)
......my conclusion...?!?!?!?!?!
Is it possible her new album will be released for Mothersday ?? (I think about the beginning of May, we have mothersday on the 9th of May, dont know when it is in the UK)

Hi Joyce,
It won't be for Mothering Sunday (to give it its correct name) in the UK, that is only 5 days away, it is next Sunday.
Release date probably depends on what sort of album it is, and Hayley is being very secretive about that. But don't be surprised if it is September! Or staggered in different parts of the world so that she can make promotional visits to those countries near the release date there.

Martin D Thanks Martin , for the explaination, i had in mind, that Mothersday or Mothering sunday, were about the same time in UK and Netherlands. Don't know where the idea came from....i remember a conversation about a mothersday album..... but now i know..... That was of course about the second Japanese songs album, which was dedicated to her mother. Greetz JOyce

Well, to take this right off topic, Mothering Sunday in the UK is always the 4th Sunday in Lent. The original traditions is that people were supposed to visit their "Mother Church", or the church where they grew up, and had nothing to do with mothers. It has since been hijacked into what it is today, a celebration of motherhood. Other countries have a celebration called "Mother's Day", usually in May or June, that has never been anything else that about actual mothers. HSJS2 was released last year at the perfect time, just before Mothering Sunday. Unfortunately it was released in the wrong country for that, Japan, not the UK! In Japan, I understand "Mothers Day" is much later in the year. I doubt the new album will be about mothers though, Hayley has already dome that! (phew, back on topic). Martin D

Hi Joyce _ where did i read about a possible photoshoot, a couple of weeks ago ??It was me that suggested a possible photo shoot when Hayley mentioned a "top secret album mission" in one of her tweets, but thinking about it, I'm sure she would want to get all the album tracks laid down before thinking about that! Hayley recently mentioned that she 'hoped' to be in studio in about a month and, whilst she has recorded albums very quickly in the past, I somehow don't think this one will be. With all the meetings and behind the scenes activity coupled with Hayley's obvious excitement, I think the concensus that this album is going to be 'monumentale' is correct. Consequently, I think a lot of care will be taken over the recording of this one so we may be looking at a span of another month. That will take us to mid May. It's anyone's guess how long the rest of the process will take but I think we may be looking at July, August or even September for a release date. There is no doubt in my mind that this is going to be Hayley's most important venture since Pure and Hayley is quite right when she says we like surprises - this one could be huge! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant & everyone, you could very well be right there Grant,an album full of surprises and it wouldn't surprise me if in fact that were the case. There is just one thing left We will just have to wait and see and then, we will see what we will see,an album full of surprises i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I got a feeling it will be. As to the content of this album, I am hoping it will have at least two or more tracks of Hayley's own material and Hayley's own material used with the right promotions. Decca are going to have to give this one their all to make any success out of it and it is a well known fact. “Nothing succeeds like success” Good luck Hayley,I wish you well with this one and if it is done right (promotional) it should be a winner. cheers all, Rodders CH CH NZ

Hmm, if it's gonna be that big... I wonder if there are chances to have finally a release in Spain... I don't really know how commercially good it could be, as she is not too known here, and of Classical Crossover artists the ones who have some projection here are Bocelli and Il Divo... But, oh, well, Spain is not an unimportant country, and it could be used as a starting point to try a launch to the Latin American market (I somehow can't imagine Hayley suits south and central american markets, way easier that she had some success in Spain itself).
