Hi Everybody. I can't join you all yet re th clip as mine refuses to work. I've tried on & off for the last couple of hours but only get the 'connecting' notice for a very short time, then 'ready'. No buffering signal like all the others. I've also restarted the computer to no avail. I guess it could be the queueup of fans loading the server up. ? Anyhow I'll keep trying. The other clips work fine!! Graemek

Just found time to watch Sunday's Songs of Praise. Although Richard said Hayley doesn't appear until about the 24th minute, I'm sure there is a snapshot of her with Aled about 1 or 2 minutes into the programme.
Anyway, really enjoyed it - great to hear massed voices singing hymns. Now really looking forward to next Sundays programme.

Hi Grant and all.
Yes, I discovered it purely by chance, the background to the rehearsals for this week.
What I loved was seeing Hayley arrive as if straight from the airport (or going on to it afterwards) with all her baggage, no porters around just automatically trailing it along on its wheels very efficiently packed to make it easy, secure etc.to wheel along the pavement. It was nice seeing her as we so often do, off the stage and being just herself. I am sure that informal shot must have thrilled those who don't see her like that.

Thanks for the information, Gerrit. I think we shall see a reduction of the UK contingent of the forum for 45 minutes on Sunday as we all tune into BBC1! Roger

Hello everyone, I know Graeme cannot play the Songs of Praise "Big Sing" preview video that's up on the HWI website... and there may be others. So I've put together a "special" consisting of Hayley's introduction and short interview from last Sunday's programme, the recording of "Mary Did You Know?" and... something else. But "Mary Did You Know?" is not the recording played on last Sunday's show... it is my own recording made from the original "Big Sing" broadcast in December 2004... complete with introduction by Aled and some chat with Hayley. Oh, something else? Well that's a performance broadcast in the same 2004 Big Sing by Hayley and Aled Jones in duet, singing "Silent Night". I thought this was well worth adding to the video for the sake of completeness, even if the BBC didn't have time for it last Sunday! I think everyone will enjoy watching this "special" - not just Graeme - so here is the Hayley Big Sing Special. 11m 20s, 300 kbps 25MB and I intend to keep it permanently available there. Think of it as a taster for the 2006 Big Sing itself, this coming Sunday! Cheers, Dave

Many Thanks Dave for that 'gem' of a clip. Well thought out !! (& executed) For anybody reading this: The clip must go in your collection. I've just viewed it complete & will shortly repeat view it with my wife. (she's just having a brief snooze) I'm looking forward now to the next week's segment. Graemek

Thanks Dave! Your video compilation makes a better preview of next Sunday's 'Songs of Praise' than the BBC's own programme, so you might have a new job next year! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIt's been quite a while since I've listened to Hayley and Aled's recording of 'Silent Night', but now I really would like them to record another duet together. Their voices harmonise so well! Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Dave, Thank you for all your input in producing that extra special footage of Hayley and Aled from the Royal Albert Hall for us! 'Silent Night' left me utterly speechless... Wonderful! Thank you SO much... Andrew

Brilliant!! Brilliant!! Brilliant!! Thank you Dave, the video is fantastic!! Now can you help with a query? I first saw Hayley on Songs of Praise wearing that same dress, but I'm sure it wasn't at the Albert Hall. I remember she sang twice and I'm sure at least one was a hymn. I've looked for it in the video clips but can't find it. Any ideas - anyone? Thanks again Grant

Just watched Songs of Praise - Fabulous!!
Hayley appears first about 12/13 minutes in, has a brief chat with Aled and then sings "All Things Bright And Beautiful". Interestingly, her version uses a less familiar tune than I guess most of us are used to. Naturally it sounds wonderful sung by Hayley!
Next up is Prayer which comes in the 32nd minute I think.
Enjoy
Grant

Just watched "Big Sing" also. Hayley was superb and gave the best ever rendition of "Prayer" (my favourite Odyssey track) with full orchestra backing.
As Grant pointed out "All things bright and beautiful" by Rutter was a completely different tune to the one we all knew from school (which was a very long time ago!!). Martin
PS Thee Hayley events on consecutive days - must be a record.

Grant Here's Hayley It's the short interview and Hayley singing " All Things Bright and Beautiful - John Rutter - 464 kbps for broadband, 14.7MB There will be more later - Prayer as well - which Hayley started a capella! Some smaller file versions too - and no doubt Simon has his own recordings to offer us on HWI These were fabulous performances by Hayley - and the Rutter version of All Things is, I think, a beautiful song which certainly grows on you (I've heard it a few times before but never sung so beautifully). Cheers, Dave Enjoy

Thank you Dave for the great videos! I've just watched them both, your "special" from 2004 and the new one. Hayley sings absolutely great as she always does. Can't wait for more. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

Thanks a million from me Dave too.
Both my wife & myself were left gasping at 'All Things Bright & Beautiful'
Whatever word I was fishing around for won't suffice.
This one will have to do: W.....O......W !!!!!!!
from a very shattered Graeme!!
