Hi everyone,
I am sure many of you will have seen that Hayley's break at home in New Zealand was delayed because, in her words, "something big came up". It has become apparent today that the event to which she referred is now being discussed on another public forum and so I will reveal it here:
Right now, Hayley is in Dublin where she will appear as a guest of Celtic Woman in their show which is taking place in Slane Castle. We understand it is to be shown on PBS television throughout most of America sometime before Christmas. It will then be release (worldwide I assume) on DVD.
Hayley will perform two solo songs and one duet. I am assured that her part is to be included on the DVD.

Hi Roger! Well, that's good news! Until today unfortuneately I haven't heard anything about Celtic Woman (Shame on me, I know )! But I like celtic music very much and if there's a DVD later this year or next year I'm sure this DVD will be mine as soon as it is released. Thomas

Hi Thomas, and Roger thanks for the update! I think this venture, with Hayley guesting on the Celtic Woman TV show and their 2nd DVD, is interesting and it should benefit both parties. Celtic Woman seems to be "bigger" than Hayley in North America and Hayley is certainly "bigger" than Celtic Woman in the UK and some other parts of the World. So, they should both benefit from the collaboration and I'm really pleased to hear about it! We already have a Celtic Woman thread started by Oksana a while back, in the Other Music board. So I've just added a post for the benefit of anyone who's interested in just how well Celtic Woman has been doing in the US charts. Very well indeed, actually! Celtic Woman thread.Cheers, Dave.

I was actually hoping that Hayley would link up with Celtic Woman at some point in order that she'd become better known here in the US.
I saw Celtic Woman in Boston during the latest US tour. They did a fantastic show to a full house at the Bank of America Pavilion!! Meav and Lisa Kelly were in especially top form that night.
Some CW fans I know really love Hayley's music as well. I'm sure the Celtic Woman fans who don't know Hayley yet will get to love her as much as those of us who are familiar with her.

Hi all,
It is wonderful that Hayley will perform with Celtic Women. CW's concert was extremely popular on PBS recently. If it is true that this concert will air on PBS, it will most likely air in early to mid-December. This is when the majority of pledge drive compaigns start.
This is very good news for Hayley fans in the USA.

Thank you for that update, Roger, on Hayley and Dublin. That sounds like a very welcome opportunity to spread herself in the New Year which should tie-in nicely with her launch of her third CD, yes?

Thomas Nor had I, Thomas, heard anything about Celtuic Women. My guess is, it is they who need Hayley and it will do Hayley no harm with a world release involved in a different speciality. I wonder if a song with them might be on the third CD? Peter Peter

Yes, my Boston bolthole friend (who was impressed wth the Hayley Westenra Live in New Zealand DVD I took over last Fall) was most impressed and bought the Pure CD but has kept telling me she still hasn't really made it in the US. Charlotte Church is still the British one they think of in US. Ooops. That's technically a slip up, sorry Kiwi Hayley.but you know what I meant--nonUs English-speaking artiste but that's a bit of a mouthful! And you did say youi were proud to be thought of as an honorary Brit!!! Peter

So that mystery has been solved at last!!
I have to admit I do not know Celtic Woman but also enjoy Celtic music and it's certainly good news that there will soon be more Hayley on DVD.
Let's hope Hayley can now go home and have some peace for a little while!

Thank you for this great news. Wow, that is really cool that Hayley will be on Celtic Woman's new DVD. It should be the other way around, but I'll take what I can get! Yeah, Celtic Woman is pretty big here in the US. I remember them getting a lot of promo when their debut was released. Well, I can't wait to see this concert on TV! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi everyone, well this is good news for Hayley, this should be a chance for promotion re the US market. I hope she gets better treatment than with El Divo. If Hayley is onstage first,I hope the theatre goers are all seated before hand and not filing in as Hayley is performing. I look forward to the DVD, it should be a good one Cheers, Rodders Christchurch NZ

Hi Rodders, I think we can safely assume that, if this was being recorded for television and DVD, late comers would not have been allowed to enter. I think we could have a long wait for the DVD to be released. Roger the Impatient!

Peter, unfortunately Hayley doesn't have anywhere near Celtic Woman's following here in the US in spite her fine PBS special and the DVD release that accompanied it. Charlotte Church is more famous here by far. I will give Charlotte credit. She's a great source of material for the Now Show and some of the other comedies I listen to on the Beeb. Some CW fans are aware of Hayley. Her DVD was recommended to me by another Celtic Woman Forum member. I really hope this move increases Hayley's popularity in the States. It will also be good for Celtic Woman, as they're trying to become better known in other countries besides the US. It also will be nice to hear Hayley sing some of David Downes' arrangements.
