Hello again folks! I'll quote this post from the 'Other Music' board:- Thank you Dave for that superb item of research on Celtic Women. Sounds like a superb combination where each artiste will gain equally from the presence of the other. Each strong for their own reasons and each complementing the other in broadening awareness of them into different audiences.
Sounds like a very shrewd move for both parties with equal gain to both which is good.
Peter As far as I can tell, Celtic Woman are much better known in the USA than they are here in the UK. By recording this TV special and DVD with Hayley, they will help her to become better known in the USA, while Hayley will help Celtic Woman to become better known in the UK. Hopefully the mutual benefit will extend all over the world! Best Wishes, Richard

I just had to post on here. If it had not been for Celtic Woman then I would never had heard of Hayley. Im becomming more and more of a Hayley fan as tiime goes on. With that being said I thought it would be fun to share with the Hayley fans how I became a Celtic Woman fan. Its a really cool stoy and one that people are amazed by when I tell it. Sometimes people dont believe it. And there are times when I look back on it and am amazed by it myself. Anyway its led me to have new friendships and involvment in the CW family of website which there are many of them. Heres my story. I think there will be alot of similarities to Hayley fans as well. How I Came To Love Celtic Woman (in the Other Music board - Celtic Woman thread)

I enjoyed reading your story, what a wonderful experience that must have been I notice that you posted the entire story twice in different threads, so to avoid duplication, I've replaced the copy in this 'Hayley' thread by a direct link to your full story in the Celtic Woman thread which is the best place for it, really. Thanks for sharing your story and I hope you will visit us often... great stuff! Cheers, Dave

Greetings from Maine! Peter, unfortunately Hayley doesn't have anywhere near Celtic Woman's following here in the US in spite her fine PBS special and the DVD release that accompanied it. I really hope this move increases Hayley's popularity in the States. It will also be good for Celtic Woman, as they're trying to become better known in other countries besides the US. It also will be nice to hear Hayley sing some of David Downes' arrangements. Hi Bob. It seems we are on similar wave lengths. Yes, this is why I enthuse on this relationship even though I had never heard of Celtic Women. Unlike the Il Divo arrangement, this should be more an arrangement of equals and a unique recipricocity--Hayley gaining from them in the US and they gaining from her elsehwere worldwide. Peter S.

Hi everyone! This is great news! I always thought Hayley had a similar style to Celtic Woman (judging from their solo albums), and she'll be a wonderful addition to the DVD! Hayley and the group have sung many of the same songs -- 'May It Be,' 'Walking In the Air,' 'She Moved Thru the Fair,' and 'The Water is Wide,' so I wonder if we'll be hearing her do some of these pieces. Anyways, I can't wait to hear more details! Oksy

Hi all,
There was no information on the PBS website regarding the airing of this Celtic Women & Hayley performance.
I will make contact with my local PBS station to see if this special will air during their December pledge drive.

Hi all, There was no information on the PBS website regarding the airing of this Celtic Women & Hayley performance. I will make contact with my local PBS station to see if this special will air during their December pledge drive. Joe Hi Joe, Celtic Woman has made no announcement as of yet and knowing their way of dealing with things I dont expect that they will make any formal announcement in reguards to Hayley. If they do it will be because of an act of God will make them do it. We will see. We have been chatting alot on the CW forum and that thread is getting close to 1800 hits as of this writting. Also there has been quite a bit of chat in our real time CW chat room as well. I know that they read it from time to time except for the chat room so maybe they will read our postts and make some sort of announcement but I wouldnt count on it. Their offices are closed untill the 18th of September and once they return on the 18th they will be busy getting ready for the tour in Japan. Its a good idea to inform your PBS station as to what is going on as they are also not in the know. Only the higher ups at PBS/CPB know the details as to the distrbution of the CW show because thats their responsbility. The local PBS stations will be told at a later time. Im going to contact our PBS station KAKM in Anchorage and let them knew. The last CW show didnt air up here untill the 1st of December and that was only after I made inquiries to CW directly as to why it wasnt being aired in Alaska. I made those inquiries in October when I went to the Cincinnati Concert on the 28th of October. The show ran on KAKM 1 month later. Take care TONY

After an internship that took over my summer I am back. Only one more semester and I graduate from college! I am celebrating.
Anyway, this is really interesting news. I have been meaning to buy Celtic Woman's CD. I will definitely watch out for this next December.

Just noticed on Ebay, an American seller offering Hayley's Odyssey CD as being by "Celtic Woman star Hayley Westenra"!
Some people catch on fast.
I don't yet know anything about CW but will be checking them out!!
