Hi everyone,
In view of breaking news, a new board has been set up on this forum.
As has been reported, Hayley appeared in the 'Celtic Woman' show which took place in the grounds of Slane Castle just outside Dublin on 23rd and 24th August. This concert will be broadcast throughout America on PBS during November. It will subsequently be released worldwide (we believe) on DVD.
Since then, there has been some conjecture (mainly on the official forum) as to whether this was more than a one-off event.
I can now releal that Hayley's association with Celtic Woman is on-going but, in Steve Abbott's words, she will be "dipping in and out as she continues with her solo career".
A US tour is being planned for next March/April but nothing is confirmed at this stage other than the fact that it will include Hayley.
We are aware that Celtic Woman are very popular in America and so Hayley's profile should be significantly increased as a result. Similarly, Celtic Woman's profile in the UK should increase due to Hayley's popularity here.
More information will follow as soon as we have it. Meanwhile, HWI wish Maev, Orla, Lisa, Chloe and Mairead, their MD David Downes, and of course, Hayley, every success in their new and exciting venture.
Roger

Hi Roger, this sounds good for Hayley especially if a US tour goes ahead. It will be interesting to see what develops eh? As Hayley has mentioned on her DVD, you try to not let an opportunity slip by, and it sounds as though this is a grand chance knocking on her door to get better known in the US. Brilliant Best wishes Hayley, it looks as though 2007 going to be an exciting year well done, cheers and best wishes from Christchurch NZ, Rodders

All sounds very interesting Roger. Hayley working WITH people yet maintaining her independence opens the possibility of that teaser I accused you of... All Angels. She could run in and out with both, although a tour in the States would obviously tie her down for awhile.
Provided she is working WITH them as perhaps their principal guest NOT as with Il Divo their curtain warmer. I know she did some concerts of her own between Il Divo tours and maybe she would do the same again.
All Angels is a difficult one, though. Would they want to be a backing to her? But how many variations can you weave upon a quintet. But then, I suppose, in principle, the same arrangement problem arises with Celtic Women, its simply a different type of music. On the other hand, they are the new kids on the block, maybe with her name in support of them they would be prepared to have her fronting for them. Interesting times! Peter S.

Hi Roger & Peter, yes your right Peter, these are interesting times. I also hope Hayley gets a better deal than before. If done right ,it would be benifical to all concerned, as they say “Watch this space”
cheers,

Hi Peter and Rodders,
These are interesting times, indeed. I won't dwell too long on All Angels in this thread (as they have their own place on this forum) but I think one fundamental difference between them and Celtic Woman needs to be clarified.
All Angels are a regular "group" in the true sense. Therefore, should Hayley ever share a stage with them, it will be as their guest (or they as hers). Celtic Woman are somewhat different in that they are an association of solo performers who come together periodically. As far as I know, all members (including Hayley) still intend to pursure their solo careers. [Is that your understanding, Dave?]
If CW's first DVD (which I acquired this week) is anything to go by, even their shows are largely solo performances by one or other of the girls. Only for relatively few numbers do two or more of them perform together. Therefore, it can be seen that Hayley could easily fit into this role.
These are early days (for CW with Hayley and for AA) but I am sure we will learn a lot more in time.

[Is that your understanding, Dave?] Roger Hi Roger and everyone, Yes that's how I see it too - but from what i've read on the CW unofficial forum, it's likely that the original members of CW are tied in rather more tightly by contract than Hayley will be. Subject to that, they are indeed continuing to pursue their solo careers as they all (well at least four of them) released solo albums in the US earlier this year.... in addition to the CW CD and DVD released last year. I strongly suspect that Hayley's CW collaboration will be looser than the original members of CW... certainly in the UK, NZ and several other Countries where Hayley is high profile and CW are not... but probably in the US too. Cheers, Dave

Hello everybody! It looks as though the next few months are going to be really exciting. I certainly feel that Hayley's style is more compatible with Celtic Woman's than with Il Divo's, so I would expect her to be a more integral part of the show. I'll be keeping a close watch on this collaboration, because there should be mutual benefit to both Hayley and Celtic Woman, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them all together! Best Wishes, Richard

When Catie mentioned Hayley was joining them, we were both a little worried over Hayley stopping her solo career... but good to hear that will not be the case!! *huge sigh of relief, haha. Maybe I am just the slighest bit bias, but I think Hayley is the most talented woman of the "Celtic Women."

Hello everyone, We have a photo at last of Hayley with Celtic woman at Slane Castle! This was posted as part of a newspaper scan of an article in the Irish Evening Herald (the article didn't mention Hayley) on the official CW website - in Macintosh format which hardly anyone could view! Thanks to Alcan1 for permission to repost the photo... this is the best we have! Cheers, Dave

Thanks but it was really Marie France who posted the pic on the forum...Shes really good at working things like that. she does all the work on Meav's fan website.
I am still trying to find a way to post the CW program on the net. So far no luck in doing so. Im not too computer literate. Thats why I do research for everyone. But i do have the program in 4 parts in my computer in Adobe files. So if anyone with a hotmail of Yahoo email account Ill sent it. But Im having problems sending it to Roger.

Thank you Roger for a very useful and very interesting update and clarification on CW and AA.
Most interesting and 'yes', I'm currently waiting the clearance/activation code from the AA site that I'm registered there. Very interesting harmonies indeed. I have that web still hanging so i can get familiar with the forum asap.

I think this is just what Hayley needs to raise her profile in the US. The sad fact is that as a solo artist, though there are some of us who are devoted to her over here, she has never totally taken off here. CW, on the other hand, has the higher profile and the Celtic flavor that always will bring out the Irish and the Irish at heart, so it will get Hayley the exposure she needs, and not as a warmup act.

I have my fingers crossed for the possible US tour next year!! I'm not too crazy over Celtic Woman, but I'll take what I can get! Actually, I do like most of their material, it just sometimes gets kinda boring. Anyways, I really hope Hayley will be able to tour with them next year. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hello Cathleen! I've only heard a few clips of Celtic Woman so far, but I think Hayley will give them the extra sparkle that they possibly need. I hope you get to see them in concert together next year, and I will definitely be looking out for the DVD of the concert at Slane Castle. I would certainly want to go and see them if they appeared in concert in London together. Best Wishes, Richard

We know of at leat one concert date and place. The PBS station started selling tickets for the concert which will be March 3, 2007. They started doing their fund drive 2 nights ago. It's at Wallingford, CT. Chevrolet theatre. So this is the first one that we have confirmed publically so far. I sure hope they go back to Toronto. Im going to try to get both a concert ticket and a meet and greet ticket for March 3.
