Hi Alcan1, Thank you for the information. Interstingly, the Il Divo tour in which Hayley guested commenced at the very same venue in Wallingford. Is that merely coincidental or could there be a reason for it, I wonder? Btw, we are still working on the CW tour brochure you sent and will endeavour to post it as soon as possible. Roger

It's great that I'll finally get to see Hayley live here in the states! That news, in the words of Major Dennis Bloodnok, did me a military power of good!!!

Hmmm, if that's as close as they come to me, I just might grab a ticket too.

Hmmm, if that's as close as they come to me, I just might grab a ticket too. OK I know that most of you on this forum in the US do not understand how this works as far as CW concerts go. This is a PBS show. What that means is that it is a fund drive promotion for the local PBS stations. As you know I went ahead and pleged and got the tickets for the concert and the meet and greet. The pledge for 2 concert tickets and the meet and greet is $400 for all 4 tickets. The stations usually only do them in pairs. For the meet and greet they are only giving out 15 pairs. Thats a total of 30 people to have access to the meet and greet after the show. The meet and greets are usually only with 2 of the girls and that changes from venue to venue. Not all PBS stations do the tickets. Its their chioce. Some venues sell tickets directly to the public through Ticketmaster or through the venues or other ticket brokers etc. I spent quite a bit of time talking to a couple of people at WEDH. Here is the deal. If you want to get tickets for the concert on March 3 in Hartford, CT then the cost for a pair of tickets through WEDH is $200. Its $400 for both the concert and the meet and greet. To get infor on tickets or to plege call Meka at WEDH at (860) 275 7306. They are doing another fund drive in the next couple of days so the longer you wait the less chance there will be good tickets for you in the comming months. I was told they plan on having the whole venue sold out with their fund drive in December. They are not giving out seat assignments yet. But I was assured that those first callers will be in the first 3 sections. The concert tickets may not go on sale to the general public at all through ticketmaster. They have the option of selling ALL TICKETS through the fund drive process. To find out about seat assignments and to get the best seats possible you should call Pat Hennig at 860 275 7473 around December 1st. Thats when they will start the seat assignments. Pat told me that CW will start releasing other dates around the country in about a month. They went with WEDH now because they were going on air for the fund drive and they were supposed to have everything finalized in Auguest but as usual Alexia was late in getting the contracts back to them. They are reairing the CW show in a couple of days according to Pat. She was a really nice lady and was very helpful. NOW IN MY CASE BECAUSE IM TRAVELING BY MYSELF I HAVE EN EXTRA TICKET TO BOTH THE CONCERT AND THE MEET AND GREET WICH SOMEONE HAS TO FILL. SO THOSE FORUM MEMBERS OF BOTH THIS BORD AND THE CW BOARD ARE FREE TO SUBMIT YOUR NAME TO ME IF INTERESTED.

Actually I know all too well how these PBS ticket drives work, and, well, let's just say I got burned once, so I decline to go this route for any meeting opportunity. I did go through WVIA in PA to get tix to see Hayley once, because I wasn't sure they'd be available later, but there was no meeting element and I should have really waited, since better tix became available later when they went on public sale. I had to go the route of snagging Hayley at the stage door, although she didn't so much mind.
I suppose I can understand the girls switching off for these meeting opportunities, since they can be kind of draining, but I'm glad someone like yourself revealed this fact, so anyone contemplating making that kind of investment can make a fully informed decision, and not think he is going to get to see the whole group afterward, and instead get rushed past two of them, no pics, no autographs.

Yep I have to agree. But when dealing with PBS and the drives the tickets may or may not go on sale to the general public. In fact in California Chloe Agnew comped several tickets for our members because the PBS station was simply asking too much for the tickets. I dont worry too much about getting burned as I would just inform the group of any problems.

Understood, but once burned, twice shy. I do not have your level of access, and so could not complain to anyone save the station, who gave me a bunch of tapes and what have you, plus dinner at some restaurant near the venue. I have never played the tapes and I tore the restaurant coupon to pieces and sent it back to them, same was far too far away to travel for a meal.

Yep. I perfer to go through the venue or ticketmaster myself. When we did our group get together last year we did it in Toronto. No PBS there so we all got great tickets and it was an awesome event. You just never know with PBS. But I also did have problems with Ticketmaster with the Seattle concert and had to go directly to the theater management. But it worked out in the end. I know all about being burned. Ive had a similar thing happen to me and our group once before. Hopefully I wont have problems. After all I have to travel at least 3000 miles to see them. So far its been a very fun and enjoyable time. I hope to get in at least 4 to 6 shows during this next tour. The only reason I did the PBS route was because there are other forum members doing the same for this show. Ive learned when it comes to this there are safty in numbers. The members of CW seem to care about their fans and if they know who is at what venues they look for us and are very receptive to the forum members. Im sure Hayley is the smae way from what Ive gathered from the little Ive read on this forum and the other on as well. We have also added a Hayley section to the CW forum too. That was done yesterday

That is excellent Rianne. Can we sign her up Richard for those occasions when cameras are not permitted?

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the link to the CW forum! I also learned the hard way about PBS and pledging for ticket incentives. Last January I paid $300 for four tickets to see Hayley's performance in Easton, PA. WLVT in Allentown is an excellent PBS station. But their member benefits are practically nil. Their membership card never was applicable to the hotel or restaurants when I was visiting their area.
Also WLVT persist on calling. I've received two phone calls THIS WEEK asking me to pledge more $.
Since this week many PBS stations are conducting pledge drives, my local station WVIA has been airing some excellent specials, mainly the Leahy concert special. Leahy is a family band of fiddlers etc. with a Celtic flair. WVIA operates its pledge system much better. I won't hesitate to pledge if something may turn up!
BTW, I haven't gotten anything back yet re WVIA and the next CW PBS special.
Thanks Tony for all of the CW info! Joe

Ah ha! I see Tony has been stirring up the forum with his CW expertise.
My experience is always just to go through with the Ticket brokers and not spend ridiculus amounts of money through PBS just for the chance of scoring M&G tickets that are often gone before you dial. The group that did Wolftrap in Virginia this past tour, had one person orchestrate a group buy and he was able to snag pit seats before they went out to general public. I sat 3rd row from the stage and was mesmerized. I suggest someone orchestrate a group buy if there are quite a few wanting to go to one show. Seats will be better before they go out to general public.
Nice to meet ya'll *waves*

BTW, I haven't gotten anything back yet re WVIA and the next CW PBS special WVIA-TV was never very good at audience response or managing premium distribution. I remember taking constant complaints from TV members when I worked at their sister station WVIA-FM. It sounds like that hasn't changed.
