I have heard of Celtic Women before on other forums. When I tried to buy their albums though it was near impossible. They do not have anything released over here? I think it's great she will be working with them. Hayley really does work so hard on her career. She deserves any support she gets. I hope she doesn't stay in the US too long (she was for such a long time with Il Divo) but I wish her so much success over there that she deserves. The US is such a difficult but vital market to break. Good luck, Hayley!

Just read about Hayley performed with Celtic Woman and they're going to release a DVD together. Haven't been able to find any release information on amazon.com, looks like there'll be a lot of Hayley news to catch up on Really looking forward to Hayley's next DVD! Cheers, Allen

Hi All, I must admit that I'm still fuzzy about how exactly Hayley fits into Celtic Woman & I just read thru the posts thus far so's I don't make too much of a dope of myself but following is what appears as 'News' on Celtic womans site.
September 06 On August 24, Hayley Westenra became a “Celtic Woman” when the group recorded their second PBS special, Celtic Woman: A New Journey, Live at Slane Castle, in Meath, Ireland. Westenra adds her voice to the Celtic supergroup that has already notched a gold record and a platinum DVD in the US, claimed the record for the longest stay at #1 on the Billboard World Music chart, and sold out venues across the country on their four U.S. concert tours. Celtic Woman: A New Journey, Live at Slane Castle will be broadcast on PBS stations nationwide in December, followed by a DVD release in January. A studio album, Celtic Woman: A New Journey, will also be released in January. Current group members Chloë, Lisa, Méav, Orla and Mairead welcomed Westenra to the group, stating “We are thrilled that Hayley has agreed to join Celtic Woman. She is an incredibly talented vocalist and performer and we are very much looking forward to working with her.” Westenra is equally enthusiastic, remarking that “I am very excited to be joining Celtic Woman. I have heard so much about the show and their success. I am really looking forward to being part of it, and to this new and exciting opportunity.” Although Westenra hails from Christchurch, New Zealand, her family traces its lineage back to Monaghan County in Ireland, before emigrating to New Zealand. Prior to Celtic Woman: A New Journey, Manhattan Records will release Celtic Woman’s A Christmas Celebration on October 3. Comprising 14 Christmas favorites and a traditional Gaelic carol all newly arranged by Celtic Woman musical director David Downes, the album features the soaring harmonies and lush orchestrations that have enchanted fans of the group since they debuted in America last year.
Can we take all this as read or not?? Graemek

Hi All, ...Can we take all this as read or not?? Graemek Hi Graeme, no you cannot! As Roger has posted, with inside information, Hayley will "dip in and out of" CW while continuing to pursue her own solo career. I think that's the best description so far of what is likely to happen... and the one that makes most sense from Hayley's point of view. Cheers, Dave

Does anyone know approximately when it will be aired on PBS stations? Hi Nick, I hope that it will air during the PBS December pledge drive. Even if it does air, it may only be in certain metro markets and not nation-wide, as was the case for Hayley's Live from NZ concert. I've contacted my local PBS station and am still awaiting a response. You could send an e-mail to the programming director of your local station. Fingers crossed! Joe

I just found out that New Hampshire Public TV is carrying the special 12/2 at 8:00 pm, 12/3 at 3:30 pm, 12/6 at 7:00 pm, and 12/9 at 3:00 pm. Folks at the Celtic Woman Forum have been posting airdates for the special at various PBS stations at www.celticwomanforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1175

I saw 12 Feb, 12 Mar, 12 June and 12 Sep. I am thinking why the New Hampshire Publice TV shows it once during the year. However, when I read again, I understood. This is the US style date. Anyway, I understand now. I am not saying that it is not okay to write US style date. You don't need to change your habit when you write in the forum. Cheers, Raymond

Sorry about that!
I alway write the dates in the International format when communicating with my Swedish lass. I'll start doing it here as well.

Hi all, Just checked the Seattle PBS (KCTS) website, the tv special will be broadcasted on Dec 3 and Dec 4. It's a Sunday so I can record it and post it the follow morning if everything goes as planned. Let me know if anyone is interested Sunday, December 3, 2006 7:00 PM Channel: 9
This performance special, recorded at historic Slane Castle, features the talented original Celtic Woman members - singers Chloe, Lisa, Méav and Orla and violinist Máiréad - joined by New Zealand-born singer Hayley Westenra, whose ancestors hailed from County Monaghan. The songs are a blend of classics, contemporary hits and original material arranged by David Downes.
Cheers, Allen

Hi bobcochran,
Thanks for posting the NH PBS schedule for the upcoming special. I often read posts at the CW Forum, but somehow I missed seeing that one. And that is the PBS station that I will be watching. Thanks again.

Does anyone know if Hayley will be touring with CW when they come to the United States next year? (Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere on here)
