Hayley and Meav Dates Announced
We are pleased to announce that Hayley & Meav’s alternate dates have now been confirmed.
Meav will open the show in Tampa on February 14th and will continue with the show until Manchester on March 8th.
Hayley will join the show in Boston on March 9th and will continue with the show until Columbus on April 5th.
Meav will be in Indianapolis on April 11th and will then finish touring in Phoenix on May 3rd.
Hayley will join us again in Palm Desert and will stay with the tour until the end.
As a touring production it is very important to us that everyone involved is happy and dedicated to the show. Touring involves being away from home for a very long time. For Meav this just wasn’t possible with a young child & Hayley’s own solo commitments wouldn’t allow for this either. We felt that the best solution would be for them both to alternate.
The show has always been based around 5 girls. This is not changing and we believe that Hayley & Meav alternating will add a new dimension and freshness to the show. ..................................................................................................................

Aaaahhh.... now, I see. If they'd explained it like that a few weeks ago, maybe all this upset and heartache could have been avoided. Dave

Interesting that this was just posted to Celtic Woman's website, as I just sent an e-mail to the address on the website last Friday. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the e-mail, but this announcement does almost look like a reply to the concerns that I brought up. It could just be a coincidence, but interesting nevertheless. I'm not going to try and make a trip to one of the shows that Hayley will be in. Even though this announcement has come through, it still feels risky to me to plan a long distance trip. It is nice to know that Hayley won't be at the show I will be attending, but I'm okay with that. I am in the process of trying to plan a trip to Wales this summer to see Hayley (I already bought a ticket with the expectation that I can go), so I crossing my fingers that everything will work out I will see her then. Well, this news brings the good and the bad. Depending on how you look at it, the good news is that with Hayley alternating with Meav, those who have tickets to CW with Hayley in the rotation will get to see more of Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI for one was looking forward to seeing all six on stage, as I was lead to believe by all the PBS advertising. While I am sure the five ladies on stage will put on a magnificent performance, it leaves me to wonder if the void left by the one missing member (whether Hayley or Meav) can be filled to the listeners' satisfaction when compared to their "Live at Slane Castle" showing. I am aware that some massive editing (audio, video or both) has been done to that DVD to polish it up like fine silverware, but still, will the harmonies of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "Beyond the Sea" live up to the expectations of the listeners who heard it first on PBS or on the DVD with all five vocalists? I know that this will be in the back of my mind as I watch them perform. Russ

Hmmm, actually that very statement was very close to what I've said should be said to a few people in IMs and it does make sense. Tony, lying is a serious charge to make if you aren't prepared to back it with evidence. I for one think it should be accepted as face-saving, which it probably is, and CW and their management should be allowed to save face.
You'll get to see both Meav and Hayley, just not both at once, I think demanding more is getting greedy. That said, I do think some of these other supporters have shown their true nature as control freaks, and I'd have nothing more to do with them.
Anyway, Hayley will be in NYC, and that's really all I was worried about, no offense intended to the other girls.

Well I am glad that they did finally post the dates. Yes it was because of the letters that people sent them. We were told on Monday that they would post it on Friday of this week. They decided to post it on Tuesday after I started calling PBS stations all over the country. I started on the list of station they have posted on their website. As I was doing that I wrote my own letter along with the other high rollers within our group. We all basically said the same thing only in a different way.

I think it's time Celtic Woman recruited another singer to get people's minds off whether so-and-so or what's-her-name will be available on a particular night.
Adding Crossover superstar Hayley was a stroke of brilliance, but, alas, she's got quite a career of her own to tend to now and then and can't be expected to please everyone's concert hopes. Let's all be thankful she does what she can in support of CW.
I would suggest the management of CW look into the formidable talent of Claire Halligan and see if she's ever around. Her involvement in PZAZZ seems to be a dead end given that their website has not been updated since last June. Also they should consider the beautiful Holly Holyoake, whose stunning soprano tones are as wow-inducing as they come.
I'm not satisfied that Celtic Woman has all the voices they need to capture the biggest possible audience. Claire and Holly would most certainly put them over the top.

First off let me say that I disagree with you 100%. Celtic Woman is #1, and #2 on the world music charts and they have been there for day 1 on March 1, 2005. They are also #4 on the top 200 album charts. The saying goes.......If it ain't broke, Don't fix it. Fixing something that ain't broke usually ends up being a groups downfall. Point 2 .... to suggest continuing adding anyone to the show is also wrong. Because what you are saying is that makes it totally OK for Celtic Woman LTD to do what they did to Deirdre Shannon. Thats outrageous. And you would also be telling them that its OK for them to do exactly what we CW fans believe is the motive behind all this. Those that did write in on Monday voiced those concerns because we know their past history. and what they are capable of. I pray your suggestion does not prevail because it would be the end of CW.

Well, Celtic Woman is a show rather than a group, so they can change the lineup whenever they want, subject, of course, to what the market will bear. I dunno what happened to Deirdre, but hey, they can hire and fire soloists as often as they like, and maybe they wanted Meav back really badly. That's showbiz.
The addition of Claire or Holly is an interesting idea, although Holly being a Welsh town person would further dilute the "Celtic" nature of the group and I don't think that's what they want, nor do I think (though this is pure guess) that Holly wants to go in the Celtic/New Age direction with her music. As for Claire, who knows? She's fallen largely silent, but I am forced to agree that Pzazz does seem to be at a dead end; the album should have been out long ago and the website is as dead as a doornail. Sometimes these things don't work out. But I think the current lineup is fine and they do not need to go looking for new folks.
Anyhu, the question of who's going to appear where is resolved and this thread should come to an end. I ought to go register over at CWF just to give a few of those other posters my thoughts on some of what they said.

Hello everybody! I have posted an updated list of tour dates, indicating where Hayley is expected to appear, in the 'North American Tour 2007' thread HERE. The information is taken from Celtic Woman's official website and Tony's post at the top of this page, but is subject to confirmation by Steve Abbott. Best Wishes, Richard

Is there anybody out there who is not a fan of Celtic Women? Its Ok but I'm sure some of us would like Hayley to associate with someone a bit more exciting.

I only say that because their influence might drop Hayley into mediocrity.

Hi Jon,
I don't think so... this collaboration could prove to be highly successful for Hayley in the US (and for CW in UK and Europe) and I hope we can try t be positive about it. It's already clear that Hayley's solo career is not endangered at all by this... and it should be enhanced in the US.
If it doesn't work, I'm sure that future collaborations between them will not happen; but first, why not give it a chance to work?
Cheers, Dave
