Problem is that whole statement is a lie. I cant elaborate further. With only a peripheral awareness of past history I'm rather inclined to agree with you Alcan1. It smacks very much of 'what's the best way of digging out of this hole?' Rather than announcing after the trauma what they now claim they intended to tell us before the trauma! Peter S.

Is there anybody out there who is not a fan of Celtic Women? .... Well I like them enough... would prolly enjoy them more if they cut down on the jumping fiddler parts. Of course, if not for Hayley I wouldn't be that keen in the first place.

They have gotten themselves into a pickle. So much so that for the first time in Celtic Woman LTD history they have actually acknowledged their fans. Its damage control. They know they messed up and they did it on purpose. Frankly I don't even want to go down there. If it weren't for the forum members I'm helping out I wouldn't go. My image of CW is totally blown. Tony, in heaven's name, let it go already. You are digging yourself deep into a hole you don't want to be in by obsessing about this and clashing with CW management. It does seem like an important detail was left out here, and PBS is probably only pretending to be shocked, but, when all's said and done, this is CW's issue, not yours. I mean, I'm sure you still want to do the meetings that are set up, but if I were the management I'd be half inclined to say do not let this guy ANYWHERE near the girls, for I'd fear for their safety and their comfort.
I guess I see it differently, my primary concern was Hayley, and now that I know she'll be there I think I can put this to bed, but wanting all six there is probably overreaching. In any case, do we really need to continue this fight here on Hayley's forum? I dunno if I can really say I know Hayley, but I have met her six times and she has always been gracious and never looked to hurt anyone, I really don't see her as having been behind any invidious action here. So far her fans here have been gracious and patient in hearing you out, and I do not think this is the fanbase that some other artists have or had, but the point is long made, and I think you might want to wind down at this point. Just a suggestion.

Hi Folks.
when all the smoke and dust clears and all the shouting is over and we look back in ten years time,
Something wonderful will be left : "THE RECORDINGS" The music CDs and the DVDs will still be there to remind us that the important part was the music and not the politics......
we'll have forgotten all this storm in a teacup.

Well, it's surely not been my week either folks. The tickets here in Kansas City went on sale Monday, and I ran right up to Ticketmaster and bought 5 of them for me and my friends (including Yatashka). Now I have to call them tomorrow and tell them that Hayley will NOT be here! I agree with the posts on here that PBS and Celtic Woman both have a lot of explaining to do. We were deceived into thinking it is now a six woman show, and that all performers would be coming. Some people here in Kansas City paid a horrid $250.00 a seat for "Meet & Greet" ticket, in fact none of the PBS seats were less than a $100.00 pledge apiece. I think I will call KCPT (Kansas City's Poorest Television) and find out just what they knew and when they knew it. At any rate I now have 5 tickets in Row P of the balcony for a show that will not feature Hayley. This is the second time I have been cheated out of a Hayley appearance; she canceled the concert in Detroit back in 2005 to make Odyssey. I really feel robbed right now, as should most of middle america. I will be sending a message to the management of Celtic Woman expressing my displeasure and frustration in their so-called decision to make this a "five" woman show. That's garbage and they know it. By doing this they are burning the bonds that they have created with the American Viewers, and next time they can expect that people will not be fooled again. My only option now to see Hayley is to try to plan a vacation to Michigan in early April. Hayley will appear in Detroit, and it's one city I know fairly well, not to mention that my friend lives just 50 miles up the road south of Flint. I have no idea where the funds for such a trip will come from, I live on a fixed income and money is always tight. I remember seeing Hayley in Wisconsin back in July 2004, now that was magic...I drove over 500 miles that time. But to think she was going to be in my backyard, only to find out it was just a dream. ARRGGGH! Of course this does no good for my church friends who now all have tickets to a non-Hayley show. It's just not fair! By the way Roger, I thought I had already joined this forum but have no idea what I had used to sign in with. So if I exist on here twice let me know...I'm just sooo frustrated right now! Looking forward to the Treasure...looks like that's all I can look foward to! Master Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight and Defender of the Universe!

Hi Master Luke and welcome back to the forum.
As you have seen, you are not the only one to have been disappointed by recent developments concerning the CW schedule. It is no consolation but I sympathize enormously.
I hope your message to CW's management team helps to prevent something like this from happening in the future but I think we all know it will not change the outcome on this occasion.
Incidentally, there is no problem with you membership. I will email you to explain what happened.
Best wishes, Roger

Very fairly put, Fusilier23. Although it is on thread and we have a natural concern for Hayley's reputation, our key in the wider context of this site is Hayley, Hayley, Hayley. Having expressed concern for any flak going in her direction it is time we cooled it.
I am particularly sensitive in reading your post as, for some reason today, the site opening of Pokarekare Ana continues to play in the background despite a new window. The sheer beauty of that voice, the wonderful gentleness of the person singing; the richness of that lovely and loving spirit really contrasts with this acrimony.
We need to be aware (and it is right to raise issues of concern) but then we must not make a concern out of them.

I think we need to find a balance here between freedom of speech and not becoming overly critical, especially when we don't know the exact reason for the current situation. I think that which needed to be said has now been said and I would prefer the matter be laid to rest (but of course, you are welcome to raise your concerns to the appropriate quarters).
Thank you, Roger

Hello Master Luke...welcome back! I remember you were also a member of the Aselin Debison group on Yahoo.
I'm sorry that you are also disappointed about the issue raised on this thead. Back in December, my PBS station wasn't very clear either about Hayley appearing with CW on March 1.
I do hope you are able to attend the performance in Detroit.

Hey Joe:
Thank you for the welcome Joe, and yes I am a member of Aselin Debison's group on Yahoo. I am hoping we hear from Aselin soon, and I wish she had more exposure in the USA. Do you know that Hayley was up there in Cape Breton last year, and was talking to that guy that sang with Aselin on the PBS special? Can you imagine getting the two of them together!?
As for PBS, I am disappointed. I don't know what I would have done if I had known this prior to last Monday when I bought the tickets here in Kansas City for me and four other church friends. I still have to tell them that Hayley is NOT coming, and I do not relish their reaction. However, the girls all like Celtic Woman as well, and frankly I can't see any of their performances without all six of them; either way someone is getting shortchanged. I hate disappointing my friends, and wish I had a solution for all of us, albeit a miracle.
As for Detroit...it's not looking very good. This has not been a good winter here in Missouri, and expenses have been much much higher than I anticipated. I have a dear, wonderful lifetime friend who lives just north of Detroit up I 75, and she is desperate for me to come up and fix her computers and probably tons of other jobs that need to be done (her hard drive is over three years old and it's time for a serious tune up). Her being blind makes any chance of her completing these tasks virtually impossible, even though she is blessed with the latest technology in screen readers and computer accessible aids that are on the market (stuff that don't come cheap either!). She was actually going to take me to see Hayley in 2005 in Detroit when they canceled that performance...sigh. Unfortunately, she wants to come back to Missouri and visit with me, and probably can't travel before early June as her teenagers are in school. So going on the 3rd of April will be problematic at best, unless a leprechaun comes out of the sky or I win the PowerBall or MegaMillions. Translated, I am probably beat for this year, especially now that I hold tickets to the concert here on the 24th of April. I will be telling my friends about our options, and ask them if they wanna try for maybe Nashville, but I can't afford to do both and I really wanna see BOTH Hayley and Meav! I guess you can see my frustrations over the whole matter!
So thanks again Joe for your concern, and perhaps a miracle will come forth...I surely hope so. God Bless
Master Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight and Defender of the Universe!

Hi Master Luke! Yes, Hayley was up in Cape Breton last October. She performed at the Celtic Colours Festival...on this thread HERE and at a square dance HERE . I was sent exclusive photos too! Hayley must have been talking with Bruce Guthro. He's a very popular songwriter and singing star in Cape Breton. Getting back to Hayley and CW...I was prepared to see CW in Wilkes-Barre PA on March 1. But the uncertainty of Hayley not being there or not held me back. Fortunately I learnt quite early on that she would not. I'm sure a solution will present itself to you and your friends. Take care, Joe

Hi Bob,
I cannot comment about the CW forum because I rarely have time to look at it but I hope we have made it clear on this forum that nobody is blaming the members of Celtic Woman (including Hayley). If anything, I think we are genuinely concerned that what has happened will unfairly damage their reputation.
I'm sure we all hope for a happy and successful tour. Good luck to Meav, Orla, Lisa, Chloe, Mairead... and Hayley!
Roger
