Hello Dave and everybody! 'Gloria' is released in the UK today, so we must all buy the album this week to keep Craig Ogden off the top of next week's classical chart. Richard

I bought my copy of the CD in HMV, Oxford Street (eastern end) this morning for £9.99. The album is on a listening post in the Classical section in the basement, so I had a quick skim through it. Most of the movements of 'Gloria' are quite dramatic, with Hayley's song providing a welcome moment of calm. 'Laudamus Te' is also fairly tranquil, and this track was played by Simon Bates on Classic FM this morning. As Karl said in the interview, the four readings are all very short, ranging from 14 to 38 seconds. Although I can't understand a single word, they do add a bit of atmosphere between the movements. I'm sure 'Gloria' is going to be another massive hit for Karl Jenkins and Hayley. Richard

Well, I got the answer to my question: Hayley was Karl's first choice to sing for the album! And he had wonderful compliments for her, too.

Hi Libby and everyone Well, I got the answer to my question: Hayley was Karl's first choice to sing for the album! And he had wonderful compliments for her, too. He actually said that it was written with her in mind. A huge compliment from someone like Karl Jenkins. Best wishes Grant

Hello folks! Simon Bates played "I'll Make Music" on Classic FM this morning. I also heard a nice advertisement for the album which included a brief clip of Hayley. Richard

I haven't tried the other songs yet, but I only had time for 1 song today. So of course it had to be the Hayley one!

Straangely enough I don't have a copy yet. I have been trying to find it in the supermarksets, with no success. There was nowhere in Berwick upon Tweed where you could buy it, nowhere in the main part of Rugby either, ASDA Fosse Park didn't have it, I will try Tesco in Rugby tomorrow. Failing that I will have to admit defeat and buy a copy online, although I'm sure HMV in Leicester will have it. Despite living only 2 miles from the centre of Leicester, I only go there perhaps twice a year on average.
I start to wonder what has happened to the music market. Several branches of W H Smith I know seem to have given up on stocking music CDs recently. Specialist record shops are thin on the ground. All you can get is the top 100 pop albums.
This is all very sad.

Got the only copy of Gloria Te Deum on display in HMV Henry Street, Dublin €15.99 this morning. There was a copy of Pure and a couple of River of Dreams behind some John Williams cds, They are not BEHIND John Williams anymore I put Gloria on and played it while I was doing a little work on some drill batteries. Thinking "I will look through the sleeve notes and photos later" . Huh ! No photos of Hayley, or anyone else, for that matter except Karl Jenkins and that one has been around before, tread plate in the background. I tried to see if Hayley was in the clouds somewhere on the front picture maybe she had ascended or something.. Is that Hayley peeping out between the clouds (The Source of the Light) below the T in TE DEUM and above the R in BRITAIN ? Oh ! By The Way. I like the music Who's that fine vocalist ? I like the way this album is multi denominational.. considering Hayley's association with His Holiness The Dali Lama (Derry)
