Hi Martin As a lifelong listener to choral music I just didn't think it was exceptional. Larry Well, I think I'd agree, if you take out Hayley I prefer "The Armed Man". I have also seen live performances of his Requiem and Stabat Mater. Gloria is certainly more of the same, but I still enjoy it and love Hayley's contribution, which is something a bit different. This was never meant to be primarily about Hayley, so I'm not surprised that it isn't. It is more like "Music of the Spheres", a piece of music that just happens to involve Hayley as soloist. Karl Jenkinns was involved in MOTS too of course. Martin D

Well, I'm obviously referring to Lévi's version. XD It's the one with these lyrics: One day I'll hear the laugh of children in a world where war has been banned One day I'll see men of all colours sharing worlds of love and devotion. etc...

Got it now. As suspected Hayley's name can barely be seen in the small print. :/

That doesn't ring a bell. While we're on the subject of songs sharing the same titles, Hayley's Summer Rain isn't the only one out there, either. I tried searching for it on youtube without putting Hayley's name, expecting to find it on the first page, but instead I found it on the 2nd page.

Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics (both latin and english) to the second movement, Laudamus Te? Not having much luck searching it online. I purchased the album off of iTunes the day it was released here in the U.S., which I like because it's nice and quick but I also dislike buying on iTunes only for the reason that I'm missing out on the album booklet that usually comes with cds. For those of you that actually bought the cd, were any lyrics printed with the booklet?

:birthday: Happy Birthday, Sing Sorry, wrong thread . I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I didn't know much of Karl Jenkins's work before this, but I really enjoyed the whole album, not just Hayley's song. John

Hi everyone, The American premiere of “Gloria” took place on January 17 this year at Carnegie Hall and Hayley's performance on the CD gets a nice implicit compliment by the reviewer. [/b]"[/quote] This was a a concert in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 17th., Stabat Mater was also performed. Review is by Annie Wu from the Epoch TimesDave

Thanks for sharing that. I'm glad the reviewer preferred Hayley to the soloist who did sing. If Jenkins wrote the song with Hayley in mind, then of course he made it for a soprano's voice! Ms. Wu might not know that. Hopefully she'll decide to check out more of Hayley's music now (and everybody who reads it, too). i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hello Joyce! It's probably a couple of minutes shorter than the original track, to encourage radio stations to play it. Richard
