Hi All, I’m listening to: “17 Again” by: Eurythmics “and it feels like I’m 17 again...” m.youtube.com/watch?v=OQISUh2rjEII saw Eurthymics perform live at the (then) Manchester MEN Area, during the 1999 “Peace Tour”. At one point during the live show, within about 20 seconds, approx 50 Christmas trees (without lights) were moved onto the stage as scenery under subdued stage lights. Meanwhile a large revolving red five pointed star and a red progress bar were displayed on a huge screen over the stage to show the time left for completion of the stage set! The stage lights were turned up once the progress bar reached the end mark and the stage set had been completed! This all sounds rather bizarre but it was very entertaining and effective to witness! I still have the concert ticket too which looks quite impressive. Here it is... Happy memories! Andrew

Just listened to marvellous Irish soprano Eimear Quinn on Classicfm singing In Paridisum. I cannot believe how pure her soprano voice is at the age of 47 yrs. Well worth a listen.

Hi Martin, I have heard Eimear Quinn on Classicfm too and was convinced there had been a mistake with the playlists... Her voice does indeed sound like someone a lot younger. Absolutely beautiful... I can not believe that she is the same age as me!!! 😂 Andrew

Hi All, On Classicfm this morning I heard it announced that today was the date of the composer, Maurice Ravel’s birthday. He was born in Cibourne, France in 1875. “Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte” is of course a familiar tune to us... This is the same tune which Hayley adapted: “Never Say Goodbye” from for her: “Pure” Album. Andrew

The wonderful Lisa Hannigan "cutting a 78 rpm record" live to disc.
I have a vague memory of an automated audio recording kiosk on the promenade of Douglas Isle of Man in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
You paid your money, you sang or spoke for a couple of minutes, and you got a one off single sided record, (I think it was a 7 inch 45rpm). my mother recorded a song in this kiosk, I don't know where the record ever went, haven't seen it for years.

Just caught up with Eurovision Semi-Final 1 in which Australia and Ireland were eliminated (sorry Comet !).
A German with a ukelele had a catchy song, fast lyrics but in English and with a message which will resonate with many viewers.

Thought the Cyprus entry was really good. There are a few long time Eurovision fans on this forum for sure.
