Yes, I agree. Shall we go looking for unsecured wireless networks..... Hayley is the best, perhaps the best there has aver been. How can we not do everything we can.

Hi Martin, Yes, I agree. Shall we go looking for unsecured wireless networks..... Hayley is the best, perhaps the best there has aver been. How can we not do everything we can. Martin I still have my list of open networks. Bill

I don't understand how the voting works to be honest. Sometimes it will let you vote several times a day, sometimes it doesn't let you vote for three days. Ultimately it's supposed to be one vote, per artist, per person, per day. I assume it has something to do with cookies/cache. I think it's easy to manipulate for those that know, and since Rhydian's fans have arguably taken advantage of this, I'm not particularly fussed how the votes come in. I can't do anything about it, and I am not techie enough to know.
Jim - I did get your message by the way. Thanks for letting me know. I was only curious - not much I can do!

Well, if it is cumulative points, even giving an artist a single star will improve their position. If not, you could vote tactically by giving the top artist lots of one point votes. Is that what Hayley's rivals did to her?
I think this is becoming more a case of who has best sussed out how the voting system works than anything to do with the artists'merit. Are you sure that is what you indended Nicola?
I think the only way to level the playing field is to publish the algorithm.

To be fair Martin, no polls are about artists' merit, they are how dedicated the fans are. It's not supposed to be scientifically accurate, as no online poll can be. Just a bit of fun. It's a shame there's a way round it, and some people ruin it for everyone else, but at the end of the day, it's not that important. I wanted to include the charts merely so fans could promote their artist further. i.e. fans of Grace Bawden, for example, vote for a lot, because they would like to put her face on the top ten, so people are more likely to check her out. That's the main reason I did this. If Rhydian's fans are bent on sending out the Rhydian message on an international site, well, that's the point of it anyway.
Again, shame about the cheating. But it's not exactly important.

Hi Nicola,
Yes, you are right of course. And I think that doing this will attract a ot of people to your site, will get it noticed, make it more authoritative. I can't knock it, since I like what you are doing. It is after all, promoting music that I love, and artists that I respect.
The result is that more people will listen to a wider range of artists that you feature. That can only be a good thing.
The cheating as you say, is regrettable.
However, I always feel that Hayley does not get a fair crack of the whip in the media. Katherine, even Faryl, seem to be promoted above Hayley. Camilla will be too. There was even an idea that Faryl, not Hayley, was the star (if there can be a star of such a thing, apart from those who are being remembered) of the festival of Remembrance. I don't think that would have happened if Katherine had been there she would have been the star.
Those of us who regard Hayley, as I do, as the finest female vocalist on the planet, perhaps even of all time, want to see her properly recognised. And since the mainstream media refuse to do it, perhaps because the right palms are not greased, and Simon Cowell and big business won't make any money, I look to sites like yours to redress the balance. But the fear is that once again, given the chance, the big money guys will overwelm your efforts too. The better you do, and the more influential you become, the more of a target for such things you will become. You need to be aware of this, and I would hope you would resist it, and always try your best to be honest. So far you have been in my opinion, but you might find that various forms of pressure will be applied as you become more influential. Good luck.

The cheating is actually good, in a way. The more people check the site out, the more likely they are to check out 'the competition' for their favourite singers...

The chart has been updated again. She is going a lot better this week, but still not number one. Rhydian's pad have stickied the chart on their website, so he will always be getting a steady stream of votes. :/ Classical Crossover Chart

Lol Richard! I hope you didn't think that I was hinting for a such a thing! It's not a scientific chart, so it's not all that important to get her at the top. But no harm in voting I guess. It's funny about the rumours of the two, and they are together at the top, though! I would suggest though, that instead of making it a thread dedicated to my chart - sticky it, and have it as a voting thread. Wherever there is a place for Hayley to be voted for, you edit the first post and put it in. Loads of fansites do this. Or just keep them seperate when they come about. It's your forum! XD

Hello Nicola! I'll change the thread title. If a new poll comes up it would be better to put the link in a new post so everybody will see it's there. Best Wishes, Richard
