Hey guys, We just launched our fundraiser to keep the website alive, lol! You can see all the details on the front page of our website about what we have going on. Probably the most fun is an album that the Evancho donated to us. The last copy of this album went for $2716! Here's the link if you want to keep an eye on it for fun. We only just put it up: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110642375584Wow thats awesome Nicola with the family donating a CD, and its had quite a few bids already as well. good luck with that, much love Tracy.

My site has died. Broke. Crashed. Annihilated. It's gone. But if the worst has happened (hacked, or whatever) we backup our website everyday SO it may take a day, it may take a week, but it will be back up. If anyone does want to access the site for info purposes (not to vote) then you can visit out back-up site: www.tilleydesigns.com/classdemo

Hello Nicola! I can still access your site and log in and out, but I don't see the stars when I try to vote. I hope the site will be back to normal soon. Best wishes, Richard

No, the ratings don't work now. Adam and I are implementing a new system. Would normally take five seconds, but we have to manually cross all the data over so people don't lose their votes that they've cast since December.
There was a major network update last night on our server (they didn't warn us) and it completely broke our website. Been fixing it all day! xx

Nicola, what else can I say but congratulate you once again.. The website looks better than ever. I feel a little sorry about not being a member of such a great website, but I think for now I have enough things on my mind an on my internet life. But, even without being a member, your website proofs to be a great reference from the genre... By the way, I have recently seen an interview with Jackie Evancho explaining she is a Classical Crossover singer and that she doesn't like to be called Popera. I thought that's brave, a 10 year old trying to change the USA public consciousness about a musical genre, when I believe the biggest names that made it there have cared very little for that. I thought you'd be proud of her..

But it's good that Jackie made the effort to introduce the concept of CC to mainstream Americans, hopefully she can crack open the door for other CC singers to prosper here, especially Hayley.

Michal, Jackie has been correcting the American media since she first appeared on AGT. She never lets anyone get away with calling her opera or popera. It's one of the massive factors that made her the artist of the year on our website. She contributed a lot for the genre in three months!

While Jackie is correcting the American media, I've been thinking... The term Classical Crossover and the genre it describes has gained some sort of official recognition at least in the UK, right? (not in Spain, certainly, and I don't know about countries like Germany, France, Italy or other European countries). So, I found that there's something important that could be improved and that as it is, can be misleading and confusing for many people. I am talking about the Wikipedia articles on the genre. Wikipedia is probably one of the most consulted internet places when it comes to search for information about anything imaginable. So, even with its limited reliability (I would not use it as a source for any academic work), this huge popular encyclopedia is something to be taken seriouslyy. And, well, the articles that are currently there talking about the genre are certainly not the best for the recognition of Classical Crossoveer. There's one main article on the genre, but under the title of "Operatic Pop" and with mentions to the term popera, but no mentions to the term "Classical Crossover". Also, the article is rather short, incomplete and gives a poor idea of what the genre is. And any search or reference on "Classical Crossover" redirects to the Crossover (music) article which talks rather about the general idea of crossing over; it has a chapter on Classical Crossover, but in my opinion it is more misleading than useful, mixing so many things together. So, I think it would be good for the genre and for the recognition of the term to correct this situations. I have never edited the Wikipedia, but I think it isn't hard to do, so, maybe you Nicola or whoever else who has experience with it can do that work... Afterall, Nicola, you are quite an expert on the genre and your website is a big reference even for the artists, isn't it? I am sure you are able to provide the needed information and external sources (which may be your website or any other articles or publications on the topic) to support a decent Wikipedia article on Classical Crossover. What do you think of it? Michal

The wiki article is very inaccurate - but I can't edit it, as much as I want to. I'd be what they would call someone with a 'conflict of interests'. Especially if I refer back to my own website. I have noticed from my referrals that my website is referred to on several articles - get most hits from Jackie Evancho, Sarah Brightman and Katherine Jenkins wiki pages, so someone is putting my website on there, but it can't be me who does it.
