Sorry again about the (lack of) photos - but as Dave said it was quite a distance to travel, and was raining... plus I don't actually have my own camera, would've had to borrow the parent's. I wish I hadn't forgotten it, but it was good being able to enjoy my first concert without any distractions! (apart from rain) It was cool seeing Hayley's family at the concert too. They seemed to know Belinda and Ross very well! Didn't get a chance to meet them though. Can't wait for my second Hayley concert!

Minor flooding in Hawke's Bay 8:33 PM Friday Jan 22, 2010 Flooding is receding in the Hawke's Bay, but State Highway 50 between Ongaonga and Tikokino southwest of Hastings remains closed.
Heavy flooding in the Hastings suburb Flaxmere earlier this afternoon saw parts of it isolated and police warn motorists off the roads.
Rain pelted down on Hayley Westenra concert goers in the outdoor venue Black Barn, but did not deter them from persevering to enjoy the show.
Flaxmere roads were accessible again shortly before 8pm, police said.
However, there was still some minor flooding and police urged caution.
Sections of SH5 between Napier and Taupo were also affected by flooding earlier today.
The heavy rain is moving south, with 80mm predicted by MetService in the southern and eastern hills and ranges of Wairarapa through to late Saturday morning.
It warned rivers and streams were likely to rise rapidly.
A heavy rain watch was also in force for the hills and ranges of Wanganui, northern Manawatu and eastern and souther parts of Wellington.
There was also rain in the South Island today, with the World Buskers Festival in Christchurch disrupted because of downpours.
- NZPA
You all braved quite a downpour to see Hayley - but who among us wouldn't?
Thanks for all of the wonderful reports & pix.

Hi! Thank you for your reports and that you stayed bravely until the end of the show in that nasty rain. Ross, your pictures are great! Hayley truly enjoyed to sing again in front of her home crowd. Jono, you seem to be very hayleywowed. That is something that will stay forever and it's not too bad. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBelinda, I hope you feel better and don't have to suffer a cold too much. Best wishes, Thomas

H Day +4Well I made it safely back to Christchurch. Yesterday I almost forgot it was my birthday (must be getting old lol). At least Hayley was my birthday gift, but I didn't want the rain that went with it lol. Graeme the Gannets at Cape Kidnappers do fly to Australia. They also go when 3 months old and on the first flight they do they head off to Australia via the tip of the North Island or South via Cooks Strait. Only 20% survive to reach 3 years of age. Today before I went on the ferry I went to Te Papa , which is the National museum, to see the Last day of Pompeii exhibition which was great. The trip on the ferry was good with a smooth sea but we hit fog going across the straight and the fog horn had to be blown every few minutes lol. The weather was much better in the Sounds this time as you can see by the photos below. Now here are some scans from the Hawke's Bay Today paper. Hayley arriving in Napier Fiona is on the stage

Belated Happy Birthday Ross! Was the concert actually on you birthday?
I too had a Hayley concert at my birthday in my home town cathedral, Peterborough, but in my case it was two days after my birthday. But it was ceretainly the highlight of my birthday weekend, as I'm sure it was for you.
Thanks for the photos of the newspaper cuttings.

Well it's been over 2 weeks since the concert - and I've been away since then - but I still haven't gotten over it! It was awesome. It's a great disappointment once the concert finishes though, I must admit.. You don't want it to be over, and there's nothing (Hayley-wise) left to look forward to... yet. Can't wait to book my next concerts in the near future! Hopefully I'll be able to get to see one or two shows in other parts of the country when she tours here (depends on work). There's no way I'd miss an Auckland show though!
