I wonder if Hayley will be doing some TV performances to accompany this release? A Christmas album is a great 'safe' way to get her back in public view to ready them for the release of the next album.
By the way, I wonder why the Japan release is listed as having 24 tracks and the UK release many less?

I don't agree with the apparent need to make changes to such a stunning countenance as Hayley's using Photoshop! This is the first time I've noticed this, never in previous shoots so why now? Most purchasers won't notice - I didn't at first. Has anyone else spotted what they've done? The track list looks very different from the one previously suggested and I'm disappointed that "O Holy Night" is not included. Other than that, it looks great. Grant, you're not thinking they used the same photo as for HSJS2, are you? Because this one is obviously different. Her hair is in a different, prettier style for one thing. It's definitely new. Similar pose, though. I think it's very pretty! I, too, am very disappointed with this tracklisting, when comparing it with the Japanese one. O Holy Night and Carol of the Bells were top ones for me. This makes me worry that those missing songs won't even be on the Japanese version, either! And if they are, that's kind of mean to the rest of the world! Well, I think I'm just going to order the Japanese version and skip the UK one! For one thing, there's On the Wings of Time and that other Japanese one, which most likely won't be on anything else. I'll also consider a NZ version if there's no U.S. version.

I wonder... the only reason I can think is that perhaps the production values are higher on the songs for the UK album and they want to present a slicker international product.
Perhaps some of the extra songs on the Japanese album will be a bit more stripped back and less expensive to make. Sort of a bit how HSJS sounded in places not as heavily produced as the material on her international albums.

Hello everyone
I rather seem to have opened a can of worms here and, whilst I take on board everyone else's comments, I stand by my original statement.
I accept that there will always be the need for some attention to detail; skin tones; hair; even, dare I say the odd blemish, but these will always blend into the whole and remain unnoticed. Teeth on the other hand, are unique and any alteration there will invariably stand out and ultimately affect the overall appearance of the image. Granted, the vast majority of people won't notice, they will just see a beautiful face but, to many of us who know her, it's not really Hayley.
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
I'm with you. It is one thing to blend out a temporary spot etc or correct the lighting but it is wrong to alter features that are better left alone.

Hi all, Amazon.com is listing the Winter Magic (Import) release date of October 6. Link I was thinking about the new CD pic...glad Decca didn't photoshop a coat and Santa hat on Hayley! Joe Hey Joe, That's actually the Japanese version of the Christmas/winter album, which releases in Japan on the 30th Sept. At least the description suggests that. The SHM version is also listed as a Japanese import on Amazon USA. Jono

Well, yes, I have to agree it is an eyecatching cover, and I'm sure that picture will help to sell the album, so I shouldn't moan too much. And if I'm honest she does look gorgeous on it, and if Hayley is happy with it and I'm sure she must be, I can't get too upset.
It is just that those who have met Hayley, as Grant says, and who have seen her close up know it isn't her, and that she seems even more beautiful the closer you get to her. But as you say, only a few of us will notice, and we will buy the album anyway.

Hi Richard.
Thank you for that.
The Little Drummer Boy I haven't heard for years and I think it was a Rolph Harris favourite. There was also a song he sang about two brothers and war, or was that The Little Drummer Boy? There are one or two there I recognise as Charlotte's but I think sufficient time has passed for that to no ,longer matter. The overall balance sounds interesting and should be a good all rounder.

Can I just make a passing comment on this subject. While one would expect the circumstances to allow time to replace a photograph supplied if it wasn't up to scratch, production time scales could create a situation when someone only notices at the last minute something is wrong and they have to 'make do' with what they have. Once you start messing about, such as with a flaw in the film emulsion, you never know where it will end. It is very easy for a seeming 'short story' in repair work to suddenly become a multi-volume saga as one tries to tune in the adjustment to the surrounding area.

Hi Jillian, Yes, you are right. As you get older you realise that physical beauty is transient. My wife, Sue, now has white hair and has wrinkles and things. Some men trade their wives in for a younger model, but for me no, never. She is still the same lovely person she always was. She is honest as the day is long, and I value that. And it is the same with Hayley. She is beautiful. If you ever see her live, and hope you do someday, you will realise that she radiates love. Just listen to her songs, they are all love songs. None are about hate or death or war (OK there are a couple of bereavement songs in there but they are still love songs). None are ugly or sarcastic or negative in any way. And when you see Hayley live you feel it. That love radiating from her to her audience. It is mindblowing. And you reflect it back to her, and it only makes her more elated and more powerful. Those who know Hayley love her for who she is. As I think it was Bryan Hyland sang "She doesn't need improvement, she's much too nice to rearrange" (I'm sure that song was well before your time). Martin Oh !...... must play Sealed with a Kiss, have'nt heard it for ages, really gives me the shivers, You can't always be sure you will see people you say goodbye to again

Actually it wasn't Bryan Hyland, it was Johnny Tillotson. I must be going senile!

Annd I've just ordered the Japanese version of the album from CDJapan. Getting it 6 weeks earlier than the UK release is the clincher. Although I couln't find a track listing on their site, so maybe it is the same as the UK version plus "On the Wings of Time"..Worth having though.
I won't pre-order the UK version though, after my experience with ROD. It is galling, having pre-ordered an album, to see it in the shops for several days before you get your pre-ordered copy.
