Hi All, I can't wait to hear Hayley's 'Winter Magic'... I wonder if Hayley will include the track entitled: 'Who Would Imagine A King' on her new Christmas Album? I will never forget her beautiful rendition of that song which she performed during her "Christmas Presence" Tour in 2006... What a wonderful song... Andrew

Hello everyone HMV's web site is up and running again and I have just pre-ordered "Winter Magic". Incidentally, Amazon have it at almost twice the price of HMV! Andrew: The track list has already been published. Best wishes Grant

Dunno Jillian. To me her teeth look different. Teeth like that could never work, since they wouldn't bite at the same time. Is that it?
Grant, I agree. I was really looking forward to a new recording of "O Holy Night", I'm sure it would have been the highllight of the album. Also "The Angel Gabriel"

Also "The Angel Gabriel" Martin The quote is actually mine and yes, you are right, I'm sure Hayley's teeth are too perfect - too symetrical in the image. They didn't need any messing with, they're fine as they are! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
Sorry for misattributing the quote. Or should I apologise toJjillian:-)
But you are right. I don't like them mucking about with pictures of Hayley. She just doesn't need it. It is just an insult to her in my mind. Those teeth remind me of Faryl Smith, so maybe they did the same to her.

Martin That was my first thought Martin so I compared the image of Hayley to the one of Faryl on the cover of the CBA programme. They did quite a bit more work on Faryl. They've only done a tiny bit of work on Hayley's image but it's still unecessary IMO. Best wishes Grant

I really don't think it's that big of a deal.. all photos of such critical importance will have alterations done to them to create the flawless look necessary for an album cover. No doubt they would have done a few small things like even out Hayley's skin tone, brighten the whites of her eyes, perhaps alter her teeth a little and perhaps the colour of her eyes. But that gets done to almost every important image and it's just the name of the game. We all want Hayley to look her absolute best, so I think it's good work done.

But Jillian, it isn't flawless. Everytime I see that album cover now, it will grate on me. That isn't Hayley, it is someone's idea of how they can improve her. Except they can't. Hayley is Hayley. She is who she is. Altered images are someone else, perhaps someone who doesn't exist. I wouldn't want Hayley any different. There are thousands of beautiful photos of her. Anything else is a lie.

Hi martind, This issue is certainly a hot debate... I was actually just reading an article in the paper about it while having my coffee. I think my view on it comes down to my being a young girl still very much in throes of the vanity of youth... I think it's kind of the same as the arguments about make up. I have some friends who refuse to wear makeup, saying girls don't need it and it's fake and it creates an image of women that doesn't exist. I do see where they're coming from, but I'm still not going to turn up to a party without the whole contents of my makeup bag arranged across my face -- it might be a lie, but I don't care. So where do you draw the line with what's 'real' or not? I'm a bit handy with photoshop -- I've had friends get me to digitally touch up photos of themselves and goodness knows when I had to submit a photo of myself for a job application there was a bit of alteration there to fix the lighting. I think as you get older you must grow out of all of this... I personally have no issue with the flawlessnes and artificial nature of magazines etc ... I find it a welcome escape from reality -- I certainly get enough 'real woman' by having to look at myself in the mirror first thing in the morning!

Martin Ahh come on Martin,it is only a photo to promote what will probably be a successful album for Hayley. I would imagine Hayley would have had some input as to the selection of the photo for this album. Remember, Hayley is in business as well and is probably looking at an eye catching image to help move Cd's off the shelf and money in the till. It's not rocket science if you care to think about it. cheers, Rodders CH CH NZ

I'm somewhere in the middle of this "debate"...
I definitely agree with Martin that perfection should not be something pretense, or altered.
But, it is just an album cover...the Record company want to make sales, so they will purposely make sure the photo is flawless in the ways that Jillian mentioned. If it helps more people to notice the CD on the rack, then I'm all for it. It's a sad world...I'm sure we all agree that Hayley is beautiful without any alteration.
EDIT - just noticed Rodders previous post. Us Kiwis must think alike lol.

Hi Jillian,
Yes, you are right. As you get older you realise that physical beauty is transient. My wife, Sue, now has white hair and has wrinkles and things. Some men trade their wives in for a younger model, but for me no, never. She is still the same lovely person she always was. She is honest as the day is long, and I value that.
And it is the same with Hayley. She is beautiful. If you ever see her live, and hope you do someday, you will realise that she radiates love. Just listen to her songs, they are all love songs. None are about hate or death or war (OK there are a couple of bereavement songs in there but they are still love songs). None are ugly or sarcastic or negative in any way. And when you see Hayley live you feel it. That love radiating from her to her audience. It is mindblowing. And you reflect it back to her, and it only makes her more elated and more powerful. Those who know Hayley love her for who she is. As I think it was Bryan Hyland sang "She doesn't need improvement, she's much too nice to rearrange" (I'm sure that song was well before your time).

Unfortunately Martin, there are different Hayley's involved here. There is Hayley the person, but there is also Hayley the marketed product. The problem is that it isnt really Hayley on that cover at all - it is Hayley's image. Keep in mind that the picture isnt desgned to make us buy the album - most of us on this site will do that anyway. It is designed to attract others - and is the first impression the album makes. Hopefully it makes that impression on as many new people as possible,
