From the review:
The whole quote: [sic]
The ignorance of it, argh! I don't think I'm a Sunday person. Katherine Jenkins the leading singer of crossover? - I almost laughed.

I got my copy yesterday!! there were only 3 there, including the one I bought ,there was one placed in the Charts section of the shop- in the No10 spot, and 2 at the back of the shop with the other classical crossover albums. they also had her other albums in the sale- each £4, but there were only 2 of pure, 2 odyssey and 1 river of dreams, I was amazed that the Japanese best of CD was also there but it was £26 pounds!! I don't have that money at the moment although i'd love to have the CD - and my dad told me he couldn't justify spending that much for a CD even if it was for Christmas! ...also in my local paper they have a small review of WM in their list of best Christmas albums, WM is at the bottom- it says it's a "delightful attempt at covering some of the best-loved Christmas Carols, namely Silent Night,..Westenra's pure voice successfully captures the magic of Christmas" also, it gives a brief mention of Hayley and Jonathan's Valentine's concert this year. But the top Christmas album is Katherine Jenkins's Collection album, which correct me if I'm wrong is NOT a Christmas CD! the top three are KJ, Aled Jones, and Andrea Bocelli, the other 7 are pop and rap artists ;( I hope this encourages more people in Reading to buy the album though :/ best wishes Sing P.s I LOVE the duet with Ronan Keating, I think it's currently my favourite song on the album

Hi Nicola Katherine Jenkins the leading singer of crossover? - I almost laughed. Quite! In my mind the reviewer has shot himself in the foot with that statement, effectively admitting he doesn't know what he is talking about! As you and one other have commented, his English is dreadful and his spelling worse. I'm surprised Amazon have allowed it on that basis alone! Best wishes Grant

A pity they don't let us make comments on other people's reviews. I think you might find that Hayley is the world's number 1 crossover artist. Would somebody like to tell me about KJ's presence in the Far East for example.
Trouble is Amazon allow rubbish like this and it might influence potential purchasers. I thought they were in the business of selling records.

Martin Actually they do! but No! I think the statistics speak for themselves. I was quite amused to see this very critical review linked to mine and even more surprised that 53 of 55 people found mine helpful. The figures for yours Martin are in the 30's - almost certainly because you reviewed after me. It may be that we are receiving good support from this forum but now is the opportunity to post negative comments about this guys silly review. If he see "0 0f 50+ found this review helpful", he may give up. So, get voting everyone! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

Doesn't our Hayls know a preposition is a bad word to end a sentence with ?! Why did you do it, then? "I wish I had a river on which I could skate away". Hmm, this doesn't quite sound the same. And what about Summerfly: "It don't matter..." "Doesn't" doesn't fit. Singers do that all the time, and on purpose, particularly with the word "ain't". It's nothing unusual.

I assume the bad review was on the UK Amazon, because I didn't see it on the U.S. one. All of the reviews there have been really nice so far, with only one exception. The only negative one says how they are disappointed about the lack of familiar Christmas songs, and that her voice sounds airy and weak compared to the power they heard in her voice on the Celtic Woman DVD and Odyssey. If anything, her voice is MORE powerful these days. I can sort of see where they're coming from; her voice does sound lighter in some of the songs. I admit that at first I was a little disappointed at how she sounded at the beginning of Carol of the Bells. I'm not disappointed anymore, I just love the whole arrangement of that song. One thing you can do is to rate the review: It asks, "Was this review helpful to you?" That negative reviewer so far has received a resounding "NO". Everyone else's reviews were rated helpful. There's even a positive review from someone who has only heard the clips on Amazon, and doesn't even have the album!

I just got an e-mail from Decca all about Hayley and Winter Magic. It's not the first I received. I daresay, they could focus efforts elsewhere. People that have signed up for a newsletter are the kind of people who already know and have her album!

I had the earlier one too. If so i will be sorely tempted to reply and ask why it is so hard to find a shop that stocks it!

I just checked stats on Last.FM
Number of Hayley listeners: 114,008 Number of Katherine listeners: 53,265
Number of Hayley's plays: 1,172,522 Number of Katherine's plays: 392,662
I know the internet isn't a good way to measure popularity, but it does show how much more current and on edge Hayley is.

Hi Nicola,
Not sure what these statitics mean. What is the difference between a "play" and a "listener"... Are they measuring the number of hits in some different kinds of way? Or is this telling us that on average each person that visits the site and listens to Hayley ten times, and to Katherine fout times (ish)?
