Thanks 1fan for this news of Jackie and Sarah's duet!
Also the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is reporting that the city of Pittsburgh has declared this week as Jackie Evancho Week in support of her performance on AGT tonight.

I am VERY excited about this. <3 <3
I am so happy for Jackie! I wonder how she is taking all this! Madness! Sarah Brightman! She hardly ever duets with females. Only one springs to mind in fact, and it was never released.

Yeah, Hayley is another singer Jackie says she likes. I guess Hayley's too busy, and Sarah is a little more well-known. She'll make more of a sensation since she's a bigger name. It's all about ratings, you see. Not that the audience wouldn't enjoy Hayley at least as much. I must say, I'm looking forward to seeing that duet. Now, I wonder who they'll get for Prince Poppycock?! There's nobody like him, so I cannot imagine.

Sarah must have been paid big money to appear on a show like that. Over recent years, her (or her team) decisions seem to be financially based (she even fronted Panasonic, singing a song with the lyrics 'Panasonic shares the dream with you' argh!) Frank Peterson, her producer, recently sued Youtube for copyright infringement of Sarah's music (and he won! - I'm surprised it hasn't had more press coverage as it sets a precedent).
Sarah doesn't usually do things like this. I'm surprised she was approached, and even more surprised she agreed. I'm usually cynical and think it's all about the money, but there must be an ounce of respect for Jackie in her agreement to do this. She doesn't need the exposure, and doesn't have anything to promote at the moment but a tour in Asia, and I think many will agree, AGT is not the right target audience for such a promotion. XD

I'm thinking of recording that performance on videotape BTW, Prince Poppycock will share the stage with Donna Summer! Best wishes to Jackie tonight!!!

Talent shows like this have stars like Sarah perform with their contestants all the time. In my view, it's all about making an exciting finale show. Jackie has an extraordinary gift of music, and I'm sure Sarah recognizes this. It isn't about Sarah, it's about Jackie, and about AGT getting good ratings, more likely. But I don't see how this wouldn't promote Sarah at all. Imagine if Hayley was on the show! Of course, Hayley, on the other hand, really could use the promotion. But again, it's not about that.
Jackie's performance was beautiful, but not effortless. She did say it was a hard song, so she can't be blamed for that, she did the best she could.

I don't think they'll have Hayley, there is no money for Simon Cowell in promoting another record company's artists.

I said "imagine if they had Hayley on", if you'll notice.

I hope I'm wrong about this, but Defying Gravity clearly puts on a spectacular show that is impossible to look away from and is considerably more entertaining than Jackie's religious songs of recent weeks. I sense a backlash against the sameness of her offerings compared with the continuous ingenuity of DG. On YouTube people are apparently getting restless with Jackie, calling her "boring" and "one-dimensional."
In a way, they're right. She hit a nice home run with Pie Jesu but kept it safely in the church yet again with Ave Maria instead of shooting for the stars with a more exciting number. Unfortunately, playing it safe will get you beaten in competitions like this. In these fickle times people want to be amazed again and again. The novelty of Jackie's act has worn a little thin and many of the same people she wowed five weeks ago are yawning.
This is the reality of America's Got Talent in which Americans with a talent for voting early and often get to upset our favorites. Again, I hope I'm wrong because I would love to see Jackie win it all tonight.
